IAmStormShadow
I have been playing FO4 for a few years now, & during that time I added over two hundred mods & there was no order to what got downloaded when, & the game worked great. Then I bought a new pc with good graphics, fast processors, lots of RAM & storage space. When downloaded FO4 to the new pc & add the same mods I had, everything is messed up with game. Game crashes often, mods overwritten by other mods that did not cause problems before, & I have tried using both Vortex & MO2 & neither helps. Both shows no conflicts, even though there is. I just don't understand how all those mods worked on a lower grade system, & now with a much better system, I can't play the game at all, unless I get rid of my mods, which I did get rid of 50+ & still can't get the game to work properly with 150 or so mods. I even tried the suggestions for which mods to go in what order, & followed instructions for each mod, & when it seemed like I got everything working fine, now the game crashes every time I fast travel anywhere, & sometimes just while running with no settlement or enemy around. I love playing FO4 but going to have to learn to play it unmodded, if I want to play it at all.
HeyYou
Probably moved to a newer operating system as well? I think the best thing you can do for the game, and stability..... is have it installed OUTSIDE of the program files folder. That is a protected folder, and windows is really anal about what it allows to happen there. Also, you want to pick ONE mod manager, and use that exclusively on the game. The both do essentially the same thing, but in two dramatically different ways.... and they ain't compatible. I've been using vortex for years, and it actually works quite well. IAmStormShadow
game is installed in its own folder not in program files. I do know not to put it in program files. I also am not using 2 mod managers together, I just stated that I have tried using both, Vortex only or MO2 only. I do not think which mod manager makes a difference, but many said MO2 was better at resolving problems, which it is not in this case. I just don't understand why it worked fine on my pc, but I get a new better pc, & I using less mods, I still can't make the game play properly.
