I seem to have screwed up my Bodyslide stuff. No matter how many times I build, it doesn't change the body or armor. I think it has something to do with the reference skeleton, but im not sure. If I needed it to change it to the base reference skeleton for Bodyslide, where would it be?

Bodyslide uses it's own ref skeleton contained in the Bodyslide files. If you don't know where it is then you probably haven't changed it and that wouldn't be the issue.

Would need more information on your set up. What mod manager are you using? Have you followed the Bodyslide/CBBE instructions for that mod manager? In particular, if using MO2, create a Bodyslide Output folder/mod and enable it at the bottom of your load order.

Bodyslide has a Discord server for easier help.

(groans silently) so...um... we're not supposed to point it at the directories I noted?

if that's right, I should probably edit my other post to not confuse anyone (and stop doing that in my copy of Bodyslide) Didn't realize. And... I guess it might explain why leggings never quite fit

Nope, you really shouldn't. The Ref skeleton on the Bodyslide/Outfit Studio Settings page should use the provided skeletons in the CalienteTools/Bodyslide/res/ folder.

BodySlide typically uses res\skeleton_female_sse.nif, which is pretty much identical bone-wise to the XP32 skeleton, which if you got XPMSSE installed, resides in meshes\actors\character\character assets female.

The version included in BodySlide is just a little cleaned up.   It has nothing BUT the skeleton.

That said, skeleton is primarily needed for working in Outfit Studio.   It should have nothing to do with outfit building in BodySlide.   If you build it, and BS says that it built, verify that files have actually been written to the specified path.

You won't see it with MO2. If you really believe you messed up the skeleton in Bodyslide, just re-install Bodyslide to return it to default.

The skeleton has no relationship to Bodyslide itself, it's for Outfit Studio as Scorrp10 said. Something else is going on in your set up. Did you create a Bodyslide Output folder and direct Bodyslide to put it's files into it?

Further information about the process.
