jtrucker
Actually, I've noticed the message and it was strange. All messages were the same and all read "Outfit - none" I was wondering about it. No number, no name, just "none". Strange. I will account it to a mystery of the cyberspace.  Here is the example. I believe that this lady used to have some magic robes, Restoration perhaps? In Whiterun... so she has noting in her inventory and nothing assigned so I gave here at least the robes of destruction from your spell  Edited Saturday at 02:31 AM by jtrucker
scorrp10
Yeah, I have-expected that.  So whatever the mod, it was CLEARING those NPC outfit setting. (That is, setting the outfit to 'None' rather than an empty one.) In your Skyrim's Data folder, look for any files named {something}_DISTR.ini, and see if any of them have a line starting with "Outfit =".  Chances are, the name of the file containing the line will point out the guilty mod. DirebearCoat
Also, be sure your character isn't wearing the Ring of Disrobing... https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Ring_of_Disrobing    (I'm being silly..., but it's a real item in the game...) jtrucker
Oh, I never owned such ring and Their inventory is usually completely empty other than a dagger or random book, co they don;t have that for sure  I didn' look for the file yet, will go there soon. But here is another new discovery in the mystery: Got new mod (Valkyrja Manor) which has 4 NPCs inside. One of them was naked and when I applied the spell, she has had outfit assigned (in that message) - 000D3E05 instead of "none", but she was still naked. And I got the mod yesterday, it was my very last mod installed at this time, how come some earlier mod could have stripped her? Full disclosure - I'm a trucker. When I was young, like 35 years ago, computers were my hobby and I was on top of the game at that time (16bit first PCs were just being developed with processor intel 286, if somebody still remembers, yes I'm that old ) ... But that ship has sailed as they say, now I don't understand the scripting and programming stuff, I can only play games and watch tv  May I have other topic questions? Is there a file in vanilla Skyrim, which has all the items in the game and their 8 digit codes? And is it possible to use console additem command to add a second copy of a unique item which is in the game just once (such as the key-claws or red eagle sword and such). It's not for cheating. I wouldn't add item I haven't found yet (where would be the fun in that). But with mods I gained several awesome looking properties and they all have exhibition halls for all the unique weapons, masks, armor and other items. Being born in libra as very indecisive person, it is hard to pick just one where to showcase all my so far acquired items. It would be cool if I can multiply the stuff and place it on display in all of them. I actually don't use the unique items, but create my own enchanted gear, so this is just for the exhibit. Nope. I found only two xxx_DISTR.ini files - one is from Poison Arrows and contains single line spell=xxxxxx and the other is Helmet toggle which I actually installed just last weekend so I can't be the culprit, nevertheless it also doesn't have outfit= line. Idea - could it be that I don't have the offending mod anymore but the changes persist? There were a few mods I got, they didn't work and then I got rid of them. Different dual sheath, different quivers. I also tried SOS and that didn't work in my game, guess I chose wrong version or there was something wrong with it, but it didn't work and perhaps some others. Is it possible that one of them deleted the setting and when I uninstalled the game, the original setting from vanilla didn't coma back? I don't know if Skyrim mods overwrite vanilla files. The only other game I was involved in modding (including creating my own) is a train game and vanilla files were never touched (unless player did it stupidly despite the warning ) . Deleting unwanted mod was all it took to get rid of mod and return to vanilla setting.
scorrp10
Well, mods do not truly overwrite vanilla files (those they can override them), but if you had a mod that did unset Outfit parameter on an NPC via a script, that NPC's record would get written into your save file.  This is called 'ChangeForm'.  So, when you create a new game, and visit College of Winterhold the first time, the game will load up Mirabelle Ervine's record from the actual game files.  But if anything changed about Mirabelle - like what she has in inventory, or her disposition towards someone, or anything else (including assigned outfit) - that changed record will get written to the save file, and from that moment it will be used instead of the original record from the files. Now, if you play for a bit, nd NPCs in college go nude again, then whatever is doing it is still in your mod lineup.
jtrucker
Thanks a lot. I think that's it (some deleted mod) - I started new game (I mean I didn't start new one, I loaded save from before when I got to Riverwood for the first time - I started vanilla, only start loading mods later. ) And went to college via console command and everyone is dressed. Checking their inventory they do have different robes of different level. I remember I have ODIN magic overhaul but I don;'t think that one overwrites NPC outfit. Now the crucial decision - being level 60, do I want to start new game? Â There are pros and cons, I do have access to the new homes with cool stuff to grab just at the beginning, I have the CTFO so I can travel even over undiscovered map, I have a few hot ladies I can take as followers and they are damn OP, so I can start the game on higher difficulty. It is really tempting But then again I have no smithing skills, no conjuration spells, I'm broke with like 200 gold (instead 200k ), well. dunno Is there a file with the hex codes of stuff for additem command? For the multiple exhibit collections, no cheating to have it before I actually find it - I would get bored with that.
jtrucker
OK, I'm sorry to say, I'm officially an idiot. I do not know why/how/what made SOME of the NPC naked, but the solution was just there in front of my eyes. You know, I have artistic anti-talent. Or in other words I'm not artistically talented but rather challenged. So I had no intention manually changing any "looks". So when I first installed BBLS several months ago I did NOT enable "NPC outfit dialogue" knowing I didn't want to change their outfits ever. And since it was so long ago, I absolutely do not remember what settings are even available. Now, starting the new character, I started to go through the pages of all I have in MCM to set the new character the way I like it and I SAW this enable/disable option. I went back the to naked people saved game and looked, sure enough it was disabled. I enabled it went to the college, open dialog with the naked Mirabelle and voila, gave her mages clothes (could have given her any other outfit/armor regardless of her current inventory, including custom and modded, just literally anything available) and then checked with showinventory. It wasn't her magic school specific, but it was "Expert mage robe". While I still have no idea why they were naked in the first place, fixing it manually is so simple. I'm not sure if this particular mod caused the nakedness in the first place, if so, why would it affect only expert, adept and apprentice mage robes? But at least I can fix it now. Thanks also for the spell and sorry to bother you with that. I should have figure the fix out earlier. Â
jtrucker
Oh and never mind the file with item codes. Discovered the console help command (surprise surprise ). So after I find a special item, I can display it, get the code from console help and additem X-more of them for all my houses' displays and then place it in all of them. How coooooool.
