Assassin's Creed Shadows - Headpiece of Ashes minus glowing eyes and embers

This is a request for a kind modder to create a version (reskin I suppose would be most efficient?) of the 'Headpiece of Ashes' without the fire and eye effects.

As a huge fan of Odyssey and its wide variety of gear to transmog, I was quite sad to discover that only two kasas (Japanese hats) exist in the game for Naoe at launch - the Peasant Kasa, and the Servant Kasa (albeit each with a few colour variants) - both of which I believe would be referred to as a Sugegasa.

However, the Headpiece of Ashes from the Kaen pack incorporates a Sandogasa, which we see in Yasuke's outfit choices (referred to as 'Elegant Samurai Hat'), but not in Naoe's outfit choices. Yasuke also gets a Roningasa, though I can understand this one's absence from Naoe's wardrobe lol. Just the Sandogasa is a sad one to be missing.

It'd be fantastic to add a Sandogasa to Naoe's collection, and the tattered rags add quite a cool travelling vagabond effect - but I just can't find myself enjoying the game with fiery eyes, and embers flying off the fabric.

The specific requirements for this headpiece would be:

  • Remove animated ember particle effects
  • Remove glowing eyes from Naoe
  • Retexture the rags to not be glowing orange

I know Quebec are unlikely to include 'grounded reskins' for these otherwise excellently designed outfits (which would have been a HUGELY welcome addition!) - so this post is my open request to anyone who's interested in modding the game similar to the fantastic outfit mods that were done for Valhalla!

I'm sure the mod Remove Silly Effects gets rid of all weapon and armour special effects 🙂

Hmm good point, my original read on the mod's description was that the 'elemental effects on player and enemy armor and weapons' part referred more to the in-game elemental status like Poison, but yeah I should've tried that out!

After testing I can confirm that it does fix the ember particle effects, but sadly not the glowing eyes or glowing rags. I suspect the eyes are just a texture thing like the rags, so they'll need a separate fix besides ReShade.

But thanks nonetheless, it's good to be partway there! 😁
