New UI - Performance feedback

it's not great. the old layout is much easier on the eyes. not to mention the new one is very laggy

the search functions on the left are nice, but aesthetically and performance it's a complete no for me

it reminds me of videogamemods which i dread using for the same reasons

Opening a mod page with the new updated style on Google Chrome is causing my entire system to stutter (browsing a category or forum is fine).
And no it's not a system issues, there is not stress on resources (RAM/CPU/GPU), it just makes everything stutter.
Tried on Edge and it's smooth.

Tried turning all extensions off and updating still stuttering.

If you mean my styles, I'm not sure why they would cause stuttering; all they're doing is altering the styles in the stylesheet and making relatively small changes, nothing that should conceivably cause churn.

Whether it's my styles or the default, though, the fact that it doesn't happen for you in Edge (which is built on the same engine) or that it happens with extensions off suggests Chrome itself is having an issue, unrelated to anything about the styles.

the old layout was perfectly fine, though. I've had so much lag, problems with navigation, and generally just a far worse user experience since this update- it's certainly not making me want to use the site on a regular basis.

Frankly as far as the search menu goes, i never needed a way to switch between games or anything- if i wanted to look for something for a different game i'd just go to that page.

Find most of the site usable. When you click on a game on the main site to check out that games mods the site gets choppy with scrolling. Sometimes I get freeze for 1 secound. Same happens when I go to the mods to scroll, but it isnt as bad as main game page.

I use Firefox.

The new UI is very laggy when scrolling through. But only when going further down for some reason.
I gotta agree though, the new design feels very lifeless, just for the sake of being modern

The old style at least had some soul to it, you knew hey yeah this is nexus. Now it just feels like your typical modern ui just for the sake of it.
Everything is so centered into the middle leaving the sides completely empty with nothing in it, at least stretch it out across the whole screen.

No background, nothing. It doesnt feel nice to scroll through. And removing the tabs for New 30 days etc and putting a drop down instead I feel is also not a good choice, its more clicks compared to before. Now I gotta click at least 2-3 times when I wanna see new mods made during that day compared to just once.

Can you be more specific about which pages are lagging for you? What browser are you using? Do you have any extensions installed?

The vast majority of our users are on 1920x1080 displays and the new pages fit most of this screen width, some of them even go right to the edges (e.g. https://www.nexusmods.com/games/skyrimspecialedition/mods) when they did not before.

Did you know that you can set your default tab behaviour (https://next.nexusmods.com/settings/preferences) to Popular 30 Days? Although we need to sync up the preferences still to match the new pages, this does mean you can always see Popular 28 days without extra clicks.
