Charvelx04
Okay... long time problem, still looking for a fix. Since the net has been around for some time now... searches really aren't as instant as we'd sometimes like them to be... so, forgive an old man here. What I am looking for, is that fix someone has that allows the Sole Survivor's dialog to be active when using F4SE. This isn't including XDI mind you, that makes or breaks mods left and right... but some mods do require F4SE. Just really tired of just looking at "me" as it were, silent as a mouse in a cat house during conversations. I use Vortex to start the game with F4SE active... when not using it, I just start with the game's launcher (you know, the one that allows you to change settings before starting up). Only one "fix" as it were showed up that sounded interesting... someone copied over their Steam ini's to F4SE and added lines to the Fallout4Custom.ini... funny thing is, I already have those lines in that ini file. https://www.reddit.com/r/f4se/comments/1cb9ova/launching_with_f4se_cause_no_dialogue_sound_and/ Does anyone here remember how that was fixed or if it is fixable? The search for "missing" or "dialog" much less "F4SE" here in the forums leads to a very long set of search criteria to sort thru, so thought someone may still be familiar with the solution. Thank you. Edited April 21 by Charvelx04
subaverage
You could try to delete the three ini-files in your Documents\My Games\Fallout4 folder and start the game. It will create new ones with default settings. Maybe you get messages regarding missing mods when you load your last savegame. It's only important to start the game once, make your settings again and leave the game without saving. To be sure that nothing corrupts your savegames you could make a safety copy before. Afterwards you add [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= to your Fallout4Custom.ini again. To be save you could make copies and save them in a different location before. If you didn't already do to you could check game file integrity If nothing helps you could start your game and begin a new playthrough without any mod enabled. In the character creation scene you should here Nora and Nate speaking. If so you could play until you leave Vault 111 and make a save. Afterwards reenable your mods step by step. So perhaps you indentify a mod as the cause of your problem. In the worst case you might have corrupted savegames and will have to begin a new playthrough anyways.
