weapon mesh issue

Hello,

im having trouble with a weapon mod. its a greatsword with a custom sheath.

The sheath sticks to the weapon when drawn. I read up, that in Nifskope the scabbard block has to be tagged "scb", which it is but it had no effect on the problem.

If I remove the entire scabbard mesh block, the remaining weapon gets a glitch with a weird shadow, where the falling shadows on it are reversed. Its dark on the sun facing and bright on the shadowy side.

I sadly dont know much about modelling in Blender or Nifskope and I tried nearly every solution I could read up to similar problems to no avail.

Has anyone a tip for me here?

I am not sure, but I think you should name the sword something different, not starting with Scb.

Also, your normals are off.   Right-click on the sword mesh (the Scb_1 - and go Mesh - Face Normals

It is hard to verify the result without textures, though.

Just to give you some idea to compare, this sword works in-game perfectly

could you kindly elaborate what you mean by "normals are off"? I clicked on the mesh and clicked on face normals but I dont see anything really happening.

I tried renaming the sword to SteelGreatsword, but then everything changes name to SteelGreatsword and idk why ๐Ÿ˜ž It wont let me rename the blade model alone.

I tried copying other mods models with scabbards similarly, but fail in execution.

my main problem is as mentioned, I cannot get the scabbard to scabbard ingame and when I remove it from the model entirely, the shadows on the weapon become reversed. I would actually like to have the scabbard gone in the end product and the shadows working properly.
