Question regarding Object Reference related CTD

I know uninstalling mods mid playthrough is very bad. But I did it anyway because I was lazy. The game never crashed once after 100+ hours of play so I thought everyone was blowing the risk out of proportion. Well, I just had my first crash. The crash log indicated that a Conjurer NPC was most likely the culprit, but it provided me with an FormID that is no where to be found in my xEdit. I checked up on it immediately after the CTD, so the mod list was exactly the same. I pasted the id number after the 0x into the formid field in xedit, but it was nowhere to be found. 

So my question is, is it possible for a FormID of an NPC produced by a previous load order become baked into a save, and when you use the same save later on and it calls for the NPC, it just CTD?
