JackKaneki Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Okay so i'm not trying to sound stupid but for some reason the Sort button on MO2 is greyed out any idea why? I can't find any clear reason why it doesn't work. i used to mod like 4 years back during the pandemic back then i didn't have this issue tho? Can anyone help?
laclongquan Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Probabbly they deactivate that function for the time being. Mine is, too. Because Sort function can create all sort of headaches. Like accidentally sort mods in that load order list into alphabet order, for example. I got that happened to me twice or thrice already. Sometimes the shortcut key or the shortcut combo can lead to sort being performed, and create that bug.
JackKaneki Posted May 16 Author Posted May 16 Oh thanks that explains it, i was worried but i guess it's good i didn't smash the sort button like a idiot. A question though should i place all the NVSE plugins like JIP, Johnny Guitar, SUP and Showoff Nvse thing at top priority or lowest priority?
Pixelhate Posted May 18 Posted May 18 Sorting was made through LOOT which is not maintained for NV and thus create wrong sorting. For the load order and priority, I strongly suggest to have a look at Viva New Vegas guide: https://vivanewvegas.moddinglinked.com/
laclongquan Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Late reply but wth~ Anyway, there's currently two method of dealing with all the NVSE plugins like JIP, Johnny Guitar, SUP and Showoff Nvse thing. My method is to install them directly to nvse folder in game folder. This treatment for basic, stable, very unlikely to remove, unlikely to conflict with each other, kinda pluggins. In this method those pluggins are going to have lowest priority. The pluggins are not that type? Yeah, which is when we use second method, which a lot of people around here use for nvse pluggins: They use MO2 or Vortex to install them into their session. Meaning the mods will be stored wherever MO2 or Vortex store mods. And their priority are going to whatever you set them to be. It depend on your liking, your preference~
fraquar Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) That is the internal LOOT sort, which MO2 needs to be able to download the sort list from LOOT - it's greyed out because it can't. You might want to just install LOOT and see if using it in MO2 (as an executable) does the job. Personally, I haven't use LOOT since it's earliest days - before I learned "The Method" - which make LOOT pointless. Edited June 30 by fraquar
