Degarron Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I'm trying to unmanage game after switching hard drives but I keep getting this error I can't do anything in vortex with the affected games until this is resolved and no I can't plug the drive back in it's completely dead.
Staff Nagev Posted June 11 Staff Posted June 11 Hey @Degarron - can you please start up Vortex so that the error is raised again, and send us your `vortex.log` files which are located in the "%appdata%/vortex" directory. I need to see what error code you're getting so I can ensure Vortex realizes that the HDD is not there anymore. You have two options to fix this right now. 1. Backup your downloads and delete your %appdata%/vortex folder - this will give you a fresh start but will lose all of your Vortex metadata. 2. Use CLI (CMD/PS prompt) to force Vortex to forget the game's location. Close Vortex, then go to the folder that holds your Vortex executable (by default it's in: "C:\Program Files\Black Tree Gaming Ltd\Vortex") and run the following command (this is case sensitive so it's really important you copy this command as is) ./Vortex.exe . --del settings.gameMode.discovered.skyrimse Start Vortex again and it should work just fine. Vortex's metadata will be left as is, minus the known path for the game.
Degarron Posted June 11 Author Posted June 11 Ok so I tried the first option when I couldn't find the log file T_T turns out I just didn't look hard enough the first time. it initially looked like it fixed it then I got this I'll add the New log file here I think I really screwed my self by not removing the games from the managed list before it died I knew it was going out but well hindsight is 20 20 and all that T_T vortex.log
