Vortex Constantly Crashing and disabling all my plugins

Vortex has become very frustrating for awhile now.

I continue to have deployment issues when switching profiles and my previous post never received an answer.

Now, I am having constant crashing of Vortex while trying to do anything. It disables all my plugins when this happens. Any installing, enabling, disabling, deploying, of mods causes the crash.

I have run repair on .Net installs (versions 6 and 8 )

I can't see anything in the diagnostic files pointing to an issue.

Please give me some suggestions on what to look at and try.

Vortex Version 1.14.3

Game I manage with it: Skyrim AE.

@brandiuntz what happens if you disable autosort - does it still crash on every mod interaction?

Do you perhaps use a Windows debloater application?

error: render process gone {"exitCode":-36861,"reason":"crashed"} is the error you're getting.

We already have a ticket open in which we've been trying to figure our what is causing it, but in the future please do try to report stuff like this on our issue tracker so we're made aware.

https://github.com/Nexus-Mods/Vortex/issues/17522

In version 1.14 we updated to libloot 0.26.3, AFAIK the plugins would only get disabled if libloot fails to read the masterlist/userlist or parse the plugins - it shouldn't be causing the error you're getting.

I don't use a debloater app.

I have been having problems when I switch profiles. Vortex will not deploy all the plugins, even though the mod section shows the mod enabled. It's been frustrating for months. I had made another post here on that and did not get a response. Makes me wonder if something like that might affect that error. I haven't switched profiles in quite awhile, though.

Disabled autosort, and for the brief testing I just did, no crashing. I'll test again over the next few days and update.

I'll check the ticket.

Given that you're no longer crashing after disabling autosort suggests that libloot was causing the crash. I was going to have a look at that component today, so hopefully I'll have good news later.

I'm crashing again. I got maybe a day of relief. Switching to another profile started crashing. Going back to the main profile still crashes. Even if I change nothing and simply start SKSE launcher to play Skyrim. I submitted support logs yesterday after a crash (Vortex rarely prompts for submission). I've updated to the latest Vortex. Any new ideas would be welcome.
