So how does the Ignore Feature Work?

I heard the term be used but i couldn't find anything in FAQ about it so how exactly does it work?

In the upper right of your screen, there is a dropdown next to your username, click on that, and at the bottom is 'ignored users'. Essentially, you pick and chose which of their material you do NOT wish to see, be it posts on the forums, or mods on the rest of the site, etc. Then, if you actually SEE one of their posts, it'll be a message about 'content by blocked user', or some such, rather than what they posted.

it doesn't say that tho?...... OH for the forums i didn't know that there is one for the forums so then why isn't the one not on the forums the same as the one on here?

Edit: And if the one on the forums lets you pick and choose then why is the one on the main one essentially a shadow block with the only way to contact said person is through private messages?

Pretty sure the sites have separate settings for it. Forums, and mod site have always been kinda separate.....

That's really weird to me. i also don't get the appeal well i mean for the ignore feature. I'm not the type to really block certain things or anything like that.

If it isn't interesting to me or i don't like what i see i don't say anything about and simply move on and leave them to their vice's it's not like they are hurting anyone anyways but that's me not everyone can do that. plus if most people are happy with it I'm usually happy even if i don't get it.

Yeah, I really don't make any use of the ignore feature here..... This place is quite well moderated, so, I don't really see the need to block anyone. Anyone THAT abrasive generally doesn't last long in any event.
