digitaltrek Posted July 15 Posted July 15 I've never done this before, so I'm trying to follow this guide - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em0HG0veVEQ Problem is there is no "copy as override into a new patch" option. So I'm unsure what to do next. Just trying to change Ellie Perkins outfit to a tan suit from this mod - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/20105 Thanks in advance!
subaverage Posted July 15 Posted July 15 You could try to do it ingame (please make a save before). Go to Ellie, open the console and click on her or type in "prid 222a4" (without the quotes) and enter. Then "openactorcontainer 1". You can now put the new dress in her inventory, equip it and take her vanilla clothings away. Maybe the equipping has to be redone once after a cell reset. 1

Yeah, but I'd like to just have it done prior. Thank you though!
subaverage Posted July 15 Posted July 15 You could load the outfit mod into the Creation Kit and search for Ellie Perkins under "Actors\Actor" and double click on her. Under the tab "Inventory" you see her outfit. I would think that you can change it there and save the changings as a little new plugin (maybe even esl-flagged).
digitaltrek Posted July 15 Author Posted July 15 I just want xEdit help, these other solutions are not what I'm looking for, thanks! Creation Kit keeps crashing and I also have 0 clue how to use it. The xEdit seems reasonably easy if I can just learn a few steps
rsm000rsm Posted July 16 Posted July 16 Correction: Copy as override Ellie's NPC (Actor) record into a new .esp. Copy as override EllieOutfit [OTFT:00197257] in that new .esp, too. Go into Ellie's copied NPC (Actor) record and point the default outfit to EllieOutfit [OTFT:00197257]. Go into the copied EllieOutfit and change the outfit therein to the outfit you want. Save and enable the new patch.

So I'm following everything you're saying, but I'm not finding the option "copy as override" . Right click doesn't show that option. Maybe I'm blind Edit : I figured out the copy override, but now I'm a little lost / stuck I'm too dumb for this stuff I'm struggling to find the suit from that mod, even when I load the esm. I can find it in the ESM , but I can't find it to replace Ellie's outfit with. Edited July 16 by digitaltrek

A simple solution. Right-click on the name of this mod in Fo4edit. Select Non-Player Character (Actor). Write down Ellie Perkins' FormID. Click on the created entry and enter Ellie's FormID in the window that appears. Now look for the line DOFT - Default Outfit. Select it with the mouse. Press F2 on the keyboard. And paste the FormID of another outfit into the cell.
Deshebist39 Posted July 16 Posted July 16 I change the clothes of most NPCs. Firstly, they are changed by outfit mods and patches. Secondly, I created my own mod. I added a lot of outfit mods to it. I added NPC actors that have FormIDs. And I can easily change their clothes however I want. It's very simple.
digitaltrek Posted July 16 Author Posted July 16 I'm sorry I'm still lost. Without a video tutorial I'll continue to be confused I think Thank you guys for attempting to help me.
