Music specific to cells

So after listening to the wonderful music of the taverns in World of Warcraft, I wanted to add them to the taverns in Oblivion to liven them up more. I don't know how to set a certain cell to play a specific music file though. Can anyone write out the steps it takes to make a cell play my mp3 songs i want? (Like the Oak and Crosier playing a loop of xxx.mp3)

I think that's possible, I think Servant of the Dawn mod uses this feature, a music in specific cells.

(Too bad I don't know how.)

May try these links, but I don't know if these are it

I dont have oblivion installed yet due to a dead HDD, but upon searching the GECK for fallout, there is a music tab for cells, but it only reads generic stuff thats already in the game (endgame 1 thru 19, dungeon, public, tension, death, etc.). I think it would work if I could somehow get the editor to recognize my own folder/category, but I have no clue how :wallbash:

Don't be fooled by GECK, it has a lot of new functions oblivion cannot use...(although that one is the same :))

You can script specific music by scripting, its called: StreamMusic

That works quite the same, but specific music(files) can be targeted as well ;).

Now, I haven't worked with that aspect of the GECK yet but I do recall an Oblivion mod called Malevolent which used custom music. What they did was take an Ambient sound marker, attaching custom music to the marker, and having it play through that. Seemed to work okay. Might be a bit of a round-about way but I'm pretty sure the GECK could do it too since it uses the ambient sound markers too.

ill have to look around with that. Although I haven't had any experience scripting before, but it might work ok.

True, I think it has to be extensively monitored...I only used it once in a controlled environment and to play only once...

OBSE gives some extras, still I don't think its it worth the time for such a simple thing...

You could take a look here though, it has been asked before...
