Inn Problem

Hiya,

I am planning on creating a new village with a couple of new quests and whatnot, I am taking small steps at the moment, just familiarizing myself with the cs, etc. So far, I have created an Inn, I have modelled the whole interior and the NPC's, my only problem is for some reason I can just not find how to get my NPC to offer the services of a bed. I have a script for renting the bed, I have used Wawnet Inn's Nerussa as a template for the scipts, etc (basically looking at how she is done an replicating it myself with my own variables), I have everything except for the dialogue that asks whether the player wants a bed.

Is there a way to include this dialogue easily?

Would have it been easier for me to simply copy a pre-existing NPC completely and just edited the name and script? Because I wanted to basically do this from the roud up so I could learn. I think mayhaps the problem is because my NPC is an Imperial and Nerussa a dark elf? But surely there is an Imperial Inn-Keeper??

So could somebody point me to a tutorial, or give me some advice on how to do this?

So, do I create a new quest, basically for the renting of the room? I have read the tutorial several times, but for some reason it just won't stick in my head. Is there a way for me to basically copy another NPC's text and have my NPC say it?

So i basically just create a new quest, call it something like MHArealTavernSleep, and add the dialogue??

I guess the best way to learn is to just do things and hope for the best, that way if you make a mistake, you've still learned how to do something. I will take another look at the tutorial and give it a shot, otherwise I might just copy Nerussa, and then edit her, I was aiming for a mainly Imperial village, but I guess who cares.

As long as somebody gets to hack and slash they will be happy!!

Since we are both new, maybe we could team together and try to create something? Got any ideas?

Otherwise happy modding!!

Well, You could always open up the character menu and change her race and everything. Or was that the actual source of your problem?

Well, I have an idea for a quest/castle. I'd sorta like to base it on Beowulf. But my primary concern right now is building the castle before I can focus on a quest, which is where my current problems come from. But if you'd like to team up, that sounds great.

Hmmm, sounds like an idea. Well I gotta go, I'll have a looksie at Beowolf and tell you what I can come up with. I'll post again tomorrow, anyway, back to creating my village.

By the way, always be careful with castles, dont overdo it, i usually find a small, personalized castle is the best, (good example is DLC Battlehorn)

Anyway, happy modding

That's what I'm trying to do. I just want to keep it simple, with a mead hall, armory, barracks, etc. Nothing like some indoor garden or a massive fountain. I basically want to base it very closely to Hrothgar's Heorot from Beowulf. I found a good resource and already have a basic layout for the castle planned. I'm just having problems actually making it in the CS. :P

Ha, I thought I had it!!

For some reason, my script is perfect, my ref's are all perfect, it just doesn't want to work. I even managed to get the voice to work (basically stole it from another character), and then the character whose voice i stole it from stop working!!

Oh well, I know what I have done wrong, I have it way too messily, this was my very first time and so it's expected, I jut kept poking into things i shouldn't have and accidentally moving things etc, so even if i got it to work, it would be sooooo dirty who would want it!!

I've decided to scrap my current idea and just keep exploring the CS.

Thank you for all your help
