Duezala
Hello, I have finished playing main quest of PC Fallout 3 and now want to play Broken Steel. I read that before I install Broken Steel, I need to download the patch. So, I went to the Fallout 3 web site and tried to download 1.6 update, but it won't install properly -- the bottom bar reads 100% but the top bar during install is 0. It has done this twice even when left alone overnight. So, do I have to install all the previous versions of the patches before installing 1.6? Please help. Monolithic0117
No, the 1.6 patch is cumulative and does not require previous patches to be installed. While installing the patch, did it freeze/crash or exit by itself?
Duezala
No, the 1.6 patch is cumulative and does not require previous patches to be installed. While installing the patch, did it freeze/crash or exit by itself? Oh hello. It just froze. The initial install on the bottom bar was quick.. it went to 100%, but the top bar of the install window remained at zero. So, I canceled it and retried and that time, I left it over night to install...but no luck. So, I discontinued it (end-task). So now what?
Monolithic0117
Responding to your questions, the upper bar reaches 100% every time a new file is installed, e.g. Fallout3.exe. So it's definitely not working properly. Have you altered your installation of the game, or is it in the default folder, etc.?
VerbalEarthworm
i've had this also, it's just a hiccup at the end of the install, where the game should launch but fails. just close it with the top right X and close FO3, with task manager if need be. launch FO3 your normal way, go to Settings>Display and look in the bottom left hand corner...that's your current version.
