Bejasc3D
Well, this is a lovely place, Its awesome! :)This is my first post here, So i would just like to apologize right now in advance if this is not done properly or something.I really enjoy playing Oblivion, and have downloaded quite a few mods to it, and own shivering isles etc, itsreally good! Ok, I have a serious problem with my display cases. I have checked others, and no, its not just where the problem started(Rosethorn Hall). All of the display cases that are placed arround oblivion and have things in them (e.g. in the castles) are having their things violently be thrown arround the room and jumping about. The problem is really bugging my 'personal oblivion life' too, because i just found out how to move objects freely into display cases etc (z key) and had been puting items in the cases. long before i came allong this place, and started to download some mods, every time i put something in a display case, it would sit there, while it was open. then i would close it, and it would drop straight through the bottom of the chest, or jump out of the glass. Now sometimes, it works placing and making them stay, but when i open it, bang. it is thrown somewhere in the room, often in a place hard to get to or find. I also just today started noticing that sometimes when i go in some rooms with a closed door, books are thrown about. This is getting verry annoing for me, and especialy anoying because of a player home that i downloaded (Glenvar Castle) has alot of display cases, and my problem makes it hard. I searched arround on google, and couldnt find anything, but havent searched on here yet. Thanks everyone, if somone has the answer to my prayers, or even the same problem (to know im not alone), I would greatly appreciate it/knowing. Cheers,Ben

bben46
There is a mod that solves this, and also makes positioning things much easier.Decorator Assistant http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6021You may also want a bugfix for it http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12397
LFact
list all your mods and there load order please In this case, mod list doesn't matter much. It's when Havok goes wrong..... :wallbash: By the way, I preferred Redecoration more, but what happened to that? (I know someone else reuploaded it, but....) Bejasc3D
Well, the organising mod didn't work, but then again, it didnt even do anything to it, Im not sure if im doing something wrong, but i know that I installed it and checked it. I used the non-OBSE version. The installing of other mods is irrelevant, because it changed this way before i installed them. That is when i looked for a patch, and stumbled across this site, and got stuck into modding it.
bben46
The instructions for decorator assistant are kind of long. But you really do need to read them completely. When you cast the spell. the 'alter of decorating' usually appears behind or off to one side of your field of view. Are you not getting the altar? Are the spells not available to buy? Are you trying to place an Alyied statue? All of these are covered in the forum or read me No alter, it may be appearing behind or inside of a wall if you are too close to a wall. Spells not available - may have something to do with Shivering islesAlyied statues - don't work with the mod. This is not a new mod and the author seems to be long gone. But it is one of only 2 that I know of that allows you to manipulate items and lock them down. The other one preferred by Lfact is Redecoration http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=24498 That one allows moving almost anything - including scenery, walls, rocks and bridges. There is a warning to be careful what you move. Be sure you have the latest patch and OBSE. as they are required for both mods.Redecoration also requires pluggy - which is NOT a mod and does not install like a mod. Bejasc3D
erm.... haha, now im kindof... embarrased.. To be honest, i didn't fully read the readme. The only part i learned is something about locking things in place with a spell.Ok, ive now learnt my lesson. read readmes. their name doesnt come from nothin'. But, just by installing this mod, and checking it, should that have fixed my problem if its what im after?
bben46
No, just installing and activating the mod dosn't do anything. You actually have to do the work yourself. You have to track down the guy that sells the spells. then buy them. then go to where you want to lock something down. Don't cast the spell on the object, that isn't the way it works. you cast the spell somewhere near where you want to lock it down. An altar appears. you pick up the object and move it over the alter. That activates the object to be placed, Then using the instructions, you move and rotate the object until it is exactly where you want it. THEN lock it down. Repeat with other objects in the area. When done placing, cast the remove decorator assistant spell to get rid of the alter. Using the spell you can place things on a wall, on the ceiling or even hanging in air.
