pkleiss
I am a little confused with this thread. Patch v1.7 has been out for a while, why is there not a thread about that version? Why would people still use v1.6 when 1.7 is available?
ancalimonungol
Forgive my arrogance. But what's the point of reporting bugs? I reported many bugs when there was no patch around... and they are still here being concrete parts of the game being defended by "fans".

You seem to spend a lot of time worrying about such a crappy game (according to you). I have never played a bug free game so I really wish you would tell me about the ones you seem to playing. The only major bug I ever ran into playing vanilla fallout was actually fixed in an early patch (Walter jumping to his death). But seriously I think most of us are willing to take a few problems for the things this game gives us that others don't. For me Fallout 3 is the greatest game I have ever played. Not for any one thing but for the game as a whole. I personally do not (as you seem to) want them to spend all of there time making one aspect perfect (like hair), one trick ponies don't do it for me I guess. I would much rather a larger playing world than any other changes they could make.

I would much rather a larger playing world than any other changes they could make. here are the bugs that are still present in the latest patch http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3808 download the full version history here are the other bugs still present on the game http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_3_bugs here are add on specific bugs:http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Operation:_Anchorage_bugshttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Pitt_bugshttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Broken_Steel_bugshttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Point_Lookout_bugshttp://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Mothership_Zeta_bugs Here is the technical bugs and nonsense bugs present in the first 10 minutes of the game you can easily see for yourself:when you're a baby, your father crouches and talks to you looking at empty space even if you're not present in the room.characters moon walk, show walking forward animation but move backwards. (when your father says lets go see how your friend Amata is doing, watch him closely).Characters walk against each other moonwalking.corpses move, float, may talk, etc. the overseer talks to his guard as if you're not there.it's possible to lock Amata out of the vault.guards keep knocking out Amata in an infinite loop when you are at the vault entrance.many of the characters do not respond to you when you hit them. They stand there until they become unconscious, after some seconds they get up and you can keep hitting them.Amata is not killable (this too is a techical bug which is a result of laziness. Even if they didn't bother to make her killable, they could at least make her appear during cutscenes, our they could have made it possible to hold your weapon down when you targeted her, or they could have made it impossible to hit her or fire at her. And yes: HAIR CLIPS through your body and armor. It is obvious that I'm a better observant than you. I pay attention to every detail when playing a game. It a trait that I've earned from Fallout1 and Fallout2. I don't rush trying to find mutants to kill. I'm not saying they should have made Fallout3 a bug free game. I'm saying that they should have made Fallout3 so things made a little sense.
Skotte
@ancalimonungol, some of the things you mention are not bugs but features like dad being scripted to crouch by the plaque & Amata being set as "Essential" I have tried keeping her out of the vault but she disappeared when I leveled up. I know it's not a perfect game but from your posts I don't think any game can live up to what you expect of them. that's not to say I don't think Beth needs to do things better for one I hope new Vegas has proper patches & not just be about any DLC that may be made. but having said that I really enjoy playing Beth's games
CorrodedSoul
Hope this do not offend anybody: I think (believe) that most of the gamers do not realize the HUGE amount of time and effort a programmer has to put to make a game. I really don't know the official number, but a game this complex is well over 10 million lines of code in the main module (the base engine) not to speak the countless adaptions and workarounds they had to do. Take this as an example, we have the G.E.C.K(or the CS in that case) to make our content, and even that way make a mod is not a trivial task. Now, try to imagine yourself creating that game W/O a tool of the like (yes I am aware that the level designers use such tool, but for the programming stage, you have to make it without it) and on top of that, try to sync your work with OTHER people... and then go to the endless task of debugging... S*** that's a huge task. I(and many of us) realize that the genius behind this game are merely human, that's why some of our fellow gamers DID a fix, as they do for oblivion, these are great games, that has endless possibilities. And that is hard to give. After this semi-rant thing, I have one question: Is there any way to fix the coloring mismatch problem? you know, the one introduced with the 1.7 patch.... I'll be grateful with any help on that subject. Arigato gosai masu
