LiteBlack
Hullo, I'm a UK based artist studying Illustration in Cardiff, part of my practice involves interactive works. In the last couple of years I've slowly worked on art practices that relate to game development, (conceptual design, spritework, animation, modelling, etc).Over the last year or so I've been introduced to examples of communities modding games to produce richer experiences and I find it really interesting, especially where it's supported and encouraged to bring out even more amazing content. I'm still pretty new to modding, a lot of the mods I use are very simple to set up, or even automated.I'm interested in learning about the modding community, how developers can work with them, how collaborative work is structured, and how new systems, tools and attitudes have changed the way modding works. I'm also keen to refine my limited skills to be able to produce assets for mods, aside from then being able to contribute to the existing modding community that has brought me some amazing stuff, it seems like it might also be a way to develop skills applicable to general development.I'll cut this intro short as I tend to ramble if left unchecked, hopefully this is the place for me to get stuck in! LiteBlack
Cheers, and this is indeed a great source of information, a lot of existing posts are answering my questions, I'll get through these first before moving on to more obscure points of interest!
