Benovelence
I can only say that the possibilities of slowdowns are caused by the amount of items corresponding to the size of the save game...I recently finished my game on my latest character and the end result was not a good one....I knew that the battle at hoover dam are taxing but never thought that it was THAT demanding...20fps is really killing it...Also...Alot of the modders put their items in goodsprings/Doc Mitchell's house..And now that place is also a realm of stuttering but once i get past it i works just fine...as i said...too much item onscreen does sh*t to the PC....And 4GB launcher + NVSR is always a good way to bump performance..Just be careful of what mods you install because sometimes some of it are just...Awesome in usage but real hard on the comp... camaro_69_327
Curious here .... When you play the game do you litter? Say you become encumbered, do you drop things on the ground and walk away? The game will track that object..... Move something in a cell , its part of your save game. At least that's how is has been with Bethesda games. This increases save game sizes. I haven't tested this fully yet, I have put some stuff in a garbage can to see if the game removes it. I usually try to only put stuff, junk, in a corpse that i know the game will remove...lol. Benovelence
Well i don't litter in all playthroughs anymore..back when i started playing this game i litter alot and it has been drastically slowing my game down...now i only put all my stuffs in lockers and stuff in lucky 38...even with that its slowing down over time is noticeable with more items in it...So i might want to find a mod that unloads the said item when i put it in a container or something...Do you know any that works like that? 7thNighthawk
So, there are some mods I used but I don't know how much they will impact your performance:http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49396/?New Vegas Save Cleaner, it removes reference IDs (litter lying around). It mostly puts items back in the starting positions. I don't know if it erases items of your collection. It did not for me. On my last run, it deleted ~5500 of those without me noticing bad effects (it also closes doors you opened so that the game does not have to save that too). http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37573/?I also use this even though I am not a big user of energy weapons. Basically, it makes ash and goo piles vanish after some time (not the quest ones of course) so that you don't have them staying permanently and bloating your save. Finally, I downloaded a 100% savegame someone made and tested my mods from there. With some simple commands, I changed my character back to what mine looked like. I have a fully modded game lag free now even though the 100% save is 15mb instead of my 12mb. I have decent FPS and I don't even know why. I did not litter anything on my recent playthroughs and it started lagging like hell nontheless. Edited February 9, 2014 by 7thNighthawk
