Dahveed
So after having played Skyrim for a bazillion hours I decided to make my way back in the TES series and have installed Oblivion. After modding the hell out of the UI and textures, I've finally actually started playing the game. Of course I wasn't expecting everything to be as smooth and beautiful as Skryim, but all things considered I am pretty impressed with how good it actually looks (much better than what I was expecting). However... god are the animations and combat sounds just TERRIBLE in comparison to Skyrim. When I played Skyrim I really felt that *I* was the one holding my weapons, they just had a great feel to them, and very good sound effects and animations. When you swung that 2h warhammer I swear my right hand got tired as I clicked the mouse, even my eyes would strain as I watched my character laboriously swing at his enemies. But I have to say Oblivion animations are a massive disappointment... My first character is going to be a ranger-style character who wears light armor, wields a bow and uses a light shield with a 1h sword. But when I wield my weapons it feels like I am swinging cardboard; when I run it's like I'm playing Pac-Man; when I jump.... well, it feels like a 3rd-rate video game, because there simply *is* no animation for jumping. Does anyone know of a realistic animation package (or a set of different mods) which is realistic for male characters? (I.e. none of this "sexy swag walk" kind of crap.) Nothing over-the-top, just a regular animation tweak that makes Oblivion's vanilla animations look less crappy. Thanks!
