This distant textures sometimes disappear until I move slightly forward, or tweak the camera angle. Any suggestions on what to try to fix it? Mod list is below, but mainly I have Texture Pack Combiner mods installed. Aleanne Posted February 9, 2014 Share Posted February 9, 2014 I had a similar problem in The Reach. When standing at the Four Skull Lookout location, the landscape in the direction of Markath (btr files) was appearing / disappearing depending on camera view angle. I found that the problem was apparently caused by the "SFO Remove Bent Pine-141-" SFO addon. I guess that the NiAlpha property in the mesh is causing the problem (alpha overlap or something ...). I very recently subscribed to Vurt Flora Overhaul (Redux), but was seeing this occasional strange texture on rocks and snow. As I moved about, I noticed the detail/resolution would change somewhat. So I disabled it in Nexus Mod Mgr, but still have the 1k_dds_nif_vurts-flora-overhaul.bsa and 1k_dds_nif_vurts-flora-overhaul.esp files in my data folder. Now my game play looks exactly like the image posted by Calundrus. I'm at around level 55 and never had my game look so bad. The textures don't load in detail until I get close to something; plants, animals, bandits in camps. I read about a fix that instructed to change the settings in Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. So, in the Skyrim.ini I have changed the following:uGridsToLoad=5 → 9 uExterior Cell Buffer=36 → 100 But I still see no change to the game play.
