IAssassinII
Okay. I just figured since generating the LODs did this to begin with, that it would just set me back to square one. I'll go try though.
IAssassinII
Yup, didn't work. I'll try a couple of different things and let you know if they work or not.
IAssassinII
Okay I gotta know, which file do I open exactly? I've tried fixing the already-generated WastelandNV.Buildings.dds file and then I generated the object LOD's again, which simply erased what I just edited and replaced it with the faltered atlas texture. Then I tried the atlas_out_diffuse0.dds file and generated LOD's to see what would happen ... nothing. So, which file specifically am I supposed to edit here to ensure it carries through the LOD generation process? TrickyVein
You should need to be editing both the .dds and .tga files in the NV data folder and Source folder respectively for whichever LOD models you want to change before generating LOD objects. Editing the atlas texture* after the fact is not helpful in this instance since the atlas texture plays no part in actually generating LOD objects. It is just the end result.  which is located in textures\landscape\lod\[name of worldspace]\blocks
IAssassinII
And what should I edit with the models? I'm not familiar with this kind of stuff. Edit: Nevermind. I see what I need to do. Now hopefully this will work. Sorry for all the questions thus far. I'm still pretty new to all this, but I am extremely grateful that you've answered all of my questions as best as you could. I just really wanna make sure I fix this. I've been too distracted by it to actually work on my mod. Edited March 19, 2014 by IAssassinII
IAssassinII
Oh my god it worked! Thanks a million man, I owe you my left arm! Just one quick thing before I conclude this whole thread. Why is it that there are some rock LOD's present in areas where I deleted them? Shouldn't the generation process have fixed that?
TrickyVein
Delete the old LOD meshes before regenerating LOD from in the GECK. They'll be in the 'blocks' folder in your landscape LOD meshes folder. Took me a while to figure that out even though it seems so simple in hindsight! I'm glad I can help.
IAssassinII
I delete the mesh LOD's every time, yet the same ones keep getting generated regardless. I delete the blocks and stingers folders. It's something else I think. Man LOD's are a pain.
TrickyVein
Did you delete the dlod settings for the worldspace as well?
