smuli
Marxist ßastard: I wonder where you got the chainmail from... The only place that might seem to be covered with chainmail is the upper leg but if there were even parts of chainmail in the armor, I bet they would have also covered the underarms, upper arms and the backs of the legs you mentioned. It seems to me that the items, armour, etc, all display the pointy architecture, solid-ness, and patterns of Classic Daedric Armour.True, especially the spikes in the leg armors give a daedric look but as the biggest design feature, red and black engravings are missing, I don't really think it's daedric either. My guess is for some faction's armor as the people wearing it seem to fight on the same side and the material looks pretty much like regular steel to me. Perhaps the Blades? (OK, a common armor set wouldn't add to their secresy but judging by the three times better protection on the shoulders than on the head, Bethesdas logic is something beyond my understanding anyway :P )
Switch
I have to partly agree with Iluventi here. I mean, it's distinctly sinister looking armour, it doesn't seem to make much sense to me that it'd be a uniform used by the Imperial Legion. They don't want to appear evil, after all. :P The patterns and as Smuli says, the spikes make it look more of a Daedric design, but at the same time it doesn't look quite like Daedric. Personally I think it might be some sort of cult uniform, perhaps Daedra worshippers, who fashion their armour to look a little like Daedric. Still, just speculation. We probably won't find the answer until release. :D
Marxist ßastard
Personally I think it might be some sort of cult uniform, perhaps Daedra worshippers, who fashion their armour to look a little like Daedric. Could it be perhaps, "Lesser Daedric Armour"? Daedric Cultist 1: I heard they sacked one of those towns to the South. That one with all the Nords.Daedric Cultist 2: Yeah, Malacath is the greatest.Daedric Cultist 4: Yeah, Nords suck. You know what I've been wanting to fight for a while?Daedric Cultist 2: What?Daedric Cultist 4: An Orc.Daedric Cultist 2: With your leg? I couldn't see that. You know, I want to fight an Altmer. A skinny one.Daedric Cultist 3: An Altmer? You've got to be kidding me--Daedric Cultist 2: They're taller, have longer reach. Plus, skinny guys fight till they're burger.Daedric Cultist 1: Too bad we're stuck in this shrine all day, can't fight with the other cultists.Daedric Cultist 4: Yeah, because my leg's shot.Daedric Cultist 1: Not just that, we've got to tend to the shrine--Daedric Cultist 2: Screw the shrine, let's go out and kill a guard, or something like that. For old time's sake.Daedric Cultist 3: Ahh, memories.Daedric Cultist 4: Yeah, let's go kill an Imperial. May not be an Orc, but it's something.Daedric Cultist 1: An Imperial? We're in the middle of Cyrodil, where would we find one of those!?Daedric Cultist 2: Well, I heard of this place where Imperials go every now and then, old fossil of a place down by where we summoned that Clannfear.Daedric Cultist 3: Yeah, I saw something sticking out of the ground back then. Never thought it was a building.Daedric Cultist 2: Yeah, it's Imperial architecture. Doesn't make any sense.Daedric Cultist 4: Just thinking about it gives me the creeps. How could someone live in one of those hunks of junk?Daedric Cultist 1: No braziers. You can't see.Daedric Cultist 4: You'll fall!Daedric Cultist 3: It boggles the mind, really.Daedric Cultist 2: Well, people go there and they worship some sort of God of justice.Daedric Cultist 3: My, how far we've come.Daedric Cultist 1: Savages!Daedric Cultist 2: And you know what they do in there? They kneel.Daedric Cultist 4: We can slice their heads clean off!Daedric Cultist 3: To chop their head off, we'll need good weapons--Daedric Cultist 4: Weapons!? Pfft!Daedric Cultist 2: To Hell with weapons, we've got weapons from Hell!Daedric Cultist 1: Yeah, a bound mace is like a bajillion times better than a sword.Daedric Cultist 3: What about armor? All we've got is this chainmail.Daedric Cultist 2: Chainmail? Or Daedric chainmail.Daedric Cultist 3: I'm still not getting your point.Daedric Cultist 2: You know what happens when you put a soul into ebony armor--Daedric Cultist 1: Makes it look badass.Daedric Cultist 2: We could do that to this chainmail!Daedric Cultist 3: We can't even find a daedroth to provide the soul, it'll never work.Daedric Cultist 2: Nonsense. There's a daedroth.Daedric Cultist 3: That's a frog. The frog ribbits.Daedric Cultist 1: There, it just said it swears its allegiance to Malacath the all-mighty!Daedric Cultist 4: Malacath the man-render! Hail Malacath!Daedric Cultist 2: Slaughter it!Daedric Cultist 3: But it follows Malacath -- we'd be killing one of our own!The frog ribbits.Daedric Cultist 2: You hear? It's aligned itself with Sheogorath!Daedric Cultist 1: A traitor to his own blood! The frog croaks.Daedric Cultist 3: But if we infuse it, it'll come out all black and spooky-looking. We won't be able to see each other in the darkness!Daedric Cultist 1: We'll fall!Daedric Cultist 2: Well, just wear bright colors on top of the armor, that's all. Here, we'll drape ourself in this colorful fabric!Daedric Cultist 4: Red? I'm not wearing red. Red's a gay color.Daedric Cultist 2: You'll do as you're told!Daedric Cultist 1: Right, you go ahead, I'll stay behind and infuse the armor.Later, at the Imperial dungeon...Daedric Cultist 2: Finally, he comes.Daedric Cultist 1: I had to spread the frog's soul out over four sets of armor. It was... Challenging.Daedric Cultist 2: Took you long enough. Let's all put these on and let's wait for the Imperials.Daedric Cultist 4: We're all dressed alike.Daedric Cultist 1: Does it matter?Daedric Cultist 4: We look so gay.Daedric Cultist 2: Well, the Imperials won't think that...Daedric Cultist 1: ...When they kneel down...Daedric Cultist 2: ...And we bludgeon them.Daedric Cultist 3: Are you sure this has been infused correctly?Daedric Cultist 1: What do you mean?Daedric Cultist 3: Well, it's pretty much the same, really.Daedric Cultist 4: Except we look gayer.Daedric Cultist 1: What about the spikes? The spikes weren't there before!Daedric Cultist 3: The spikes are worthless!Daedric Cultist 2: You obviously know nothing about the spikes.... You could, like, Kick someone... And the spikes would impale him.Daedric Cultist 3: It's still just chainmail--Daedric Cultist 2: Daedric chainmail.Daedric Cultist 3: It's still just chainmail, just with some stupid spikes. And look, part of my leg is showing!Daedric Cultist 3: What if they figure out the great puzzle of the Daedric armor and hit me in the place where it doesn't protect me?Daedric Cultist 1: Quiet, I think someone's coming.Daedric Cultist 4: An Imperial!Daedric Cultist 2: Right, you people stay in your group, like you're guarding something. I'll act like I'm on patrol here.Daedric Cultist 3: And when we're in trouble, you'll rush in and save us?Daedric Cultist 2: Yep.Daedric Cultist 1: Like lambs to slaughter.Daedric Cultist 4: They'll never know what hit them!Daedric Cultist 1: They'll be all like "hello, officer!"Daedric Cultist 4: And we'll be all like "how do you do?"Daedric Cultist 1: This'll be so great. Iluventi
Heh. Kudos to you if you just wrote that. There you go.. it's Lesser Daedric (Amphibian) Chairmail Armour!
VaanicOne
Well, So far, "Adamantium" and "Cult Armour" have caught my eye, and will be mentioned. As for Lesser Daedric.....well, I would have thought that if it were anything linked to daedric, it would be a little more demonic, and not just sinister. It's a very good point though, and certainly Valid enough for a mention. As soon as my ability to Edit the Content returns, I will mention you three. Kissimurra
What kind of weapon might this be? Silver? It looks kinda fancy, but so do everything in Oblivion :)
VaanicOne
What kind of weapon might this be? Silver? It looks kinda fancy, but so do everything in Oblivion :)<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd Say Steel. But silver is a better guess, I suppose. EDIT: I updated the armour section to include those good guesses BTW.
