Getting mods working together.

Ok, after weeks of trying to get a stable heavily modded FCOM game without any luck. I've decided to try with Danwoods Superpack.

 

But the pack is only focusing on gameplay and not graphics. Apart from Qarl's and Bomret's textures I would like to add Oblivion Graphics Extender, Oblivion Character Overhaul 2, Unique Landscapes and some texture packs (without esps).

 

Do you have any tips on how to get these working together? I would properly have to disable TRN, but will OCO2 make the game unstable? Which patches would I need for unique landscapes and would a bashed patch make OCO2 possible?

Hey, Tigger!

 

I can't actually help you because my game is very lightly modded, and I don't use at all any stats-changing mod nor overhaul. I have my game fine-tuned by hand with performance optimizers, texture optimizers, et al, and some landscape and new worldspaces mods.

 

Also, I don't know how to merge and bash mods, because I never needed that. I merge mods manually via CSE...

 

But I can tell you something: OCO v2 never will make your game unstable. It's just a mesh and texture replacer for characters, albeit a very sophisticated one, but its internal mechanics are quite simple: OBSE and Blockhead.

 

Unfortunately, it's also a very delicate mod and ANY other mod that touches race assets, even the Unofficial Patches, can easily disable it. And the Superpack includes some of them, like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, FCOM and Warcry.

 

My recommendation is, install the superpack and all other mods you want to use, and leave OCO v2 the last. Once you have your game modded to your desire, with OBSE and Blockhead up and running, then install OCO v2 and merge or bash it to your Superpack.

 

The only assets from OCO v2 you need to include in the Bashed Patch are the Body and Face Data assets, this is, the "cosmetical" ones. Every instance in the Bashed Patch that refers to the physical appearance of NPCs and the PC MUST BE THE ONES FROM OCO. This applies only to the playable Races and non-playable Races (Dark Seducer, Golden Saint, Seogorath and Dremora). Creatures, monsters, animals, beasts, des not use OCO.

 

I hope somebody can give you better assistance than mine and provide you the actual information you need.
