starkbier
hello guys, i just had an epic battle with a redguard called something with invincible. however, i managed to kill him. but the price was high: during battle, he kicked my most favourite blade out of my hands, and knocked me instantly down after that (i was low on fatigue). since this fight was in the mountains, my sword was flying away, while i couldnt run after it because of the knockdown and the fight. now i went down the mountain hoping to find my lost sword at the ground somewhere, but i cant locate it. is there anything that can help me to find my lost sword? i know it lies somewhere near, but i searched it for 1 hour without finding it. anything that can help = big THX regards
David Brasher
Sometimes swords disappear into walls and rocks. (The same game glitch as when you fall through a floor or get stuck in a wall.) If you searched a whole hour, I think you have done an excellent job at roleplaying and should now cheat. You can say that after an extensive search, your character found his sword. Console Command: Player.AddItem [baseID alphanumeric code] #Example: Player.AddItem 763449E6 1 The hard part is finding the number of your sword. I am a bit fuzzy on that part. If it is a vanilla Oblivion weapon, you can look it up on the Construction Set or a wiki. If it is a custom item, I would open up the mod you got the sword from in the CS and get the number there. There is another way to do it, but I forget how it works.
bben46
You can also try removing all grass (console command tg) That makes it easier to search. Custom objects sometimes fall through the scenery to the bottom of the cell. If you do try searching there (Console command tcl) be sure to have a powerful light as it is dark down there. If it is stuck in a rock or tree, sometimes it is easier to see from below also. TCL then fly down through the ground and look up.
Netwit2008
I lost my best sword during fighting in partial chameleon mode. Couldn't see if it was equipped or not and I think I accidentally dropped it. To go back in this particular quest to find it would have been ridiculous, since it was a hard quest to begin with. Even then, there was no assurance that it would still be there. So I did what David said and I "cheated" to add it back to my inventory. I went to a site called Better Oblivion (google it) where they have detailed lists of items in the game and their ID codes. I found my sword's ID there, then used the "player.additem" console command to get it back. I don't like using cheats, but in that case it was better than going back and trying to find it. If you lost it in the grass, then I'd try Bben's suggestion, especially if you don't want to use cheats.

starkbier
i found it!! in fact, flying around with tfc console was enough. i was searching at the wrong place, because the sword wasnt far away from the fighting place. i expected it to fly much more away than it actually did. the item finder mod doesnt work for me, though i am standing in front of an item, its not glowing. but the idea is great. thank you all aggain for your advice! regards
