I've crashed some like that.

Usually I'll look again at where I pasted the item in

an compare to a vanilla item

sometimes you wana paste onto the main branch, the top one

then stuff like a slide needs to be pasted in the slide branch

So long as the nif has all the parts that the vanilla one uses

then the item you pasted on the main branch

putting the new item pasted in at the bottom

it should work

But then it depends on what you copied from another nif

What I usually do is click on the item in the render window in nifscope

which will point to the actual part in the block list

then copy branch that instead of making a copy branch on the whole branch

Also when you copy branch paste branch the names for things get messed up

Which you use edit text in the block details

So like the railrifle is RailRifle:0, then the part you added in you rename to

RailRifle:1 or something

Something else you might try right clicking the thing you pasted

then mesh, then triangulate or stripafiy then triangulate and stripify again

then save an reload it in geck to see if it crashes.

You need to go into the "static" directory in your GECK & make a new static, "1stperson[name of weapon] & put in the model under "model", then find the "1st person Model object" under the Art & Sound section of the weapon editing page, & set it to the static model you made earlier.

Oh I see

You mean create a static version of the fire extinguisher or whatever

Wait, Idk that's weird

When he moves it into the weapon, it's just mesh, and doesn't really have any static or dynamic applyed

besides the colision geo box

To tell the truth I never make 1st person textures, or first person models

Seariously why bother

In GECK when you create the weapon just select none for the world an first person models

an bam you just cut your work in half,

Besides most of the mods out there that have first person models are just mirrors of the 3rd person an world models

I mean yeah I take a vanilla first person model then make it the third person model an select none for the rest

to make it high res, which is easy an cooler

Seariously just scroll up in the first an world models an select none.

You should create a false data file on the desktop make it look like the games data file only just put stuff you wana work on in it

then point nifscope to look at that folder to draw the textures in your render window

Makes editing more easy sometimes

Besides that what I would do in this case

I would open the extingwisher mesh then click on it in the render window

Look to the left the tri shapes will highlight an turn blue

I'd right click an go to block then copy branch

Minimize that (if you close it will clear the clipboard :/)

Then I would open up the railrifle mesh

Click on the very top item in the block list, the main

You know you click the + an it opens, anyway

right click the top one in block list then block paste branch

Then go to the view tab an make sure block details is turned on

the top of the block details will be the name for the extingwisher which gets screwed up

when you paste, so right click that top name in the block details, then the bottom is like

edit text string or somethin, click that, then look at the names

You should see one that is something like RailwayRifle:0

You could also click the rifle in the render window, the main part of the rifle

to see what the main name is

anyway it will be something:0, which you change your added fire extingwisher name

in the text string thing in the block details to something:1

If the main part was named RailwayRifle:0

Then parts I added in that were static, by that I mean not a guns slide or trigger or hammer

I would name then RailwayRifle:1 RailwayRifle:2 RailwayRifle:3 RailwayRifle:4 and so on

You have to watch that even some of the moving parts skip the :0 an go to :1

So long as when you paste it in it doesn't name it something stupid like projectile node

which will happen, as it randomly names it when you paste, then just pasting the branch

onto the very top of the tree in the block list then it should work anyway without nameing it

railwayrifle:1 or whatever
