Make Your Own Kickin Movie Trailers

My marketing department got the suite of Adobe products and I usually end up showing them how to use them...well, at least in terms of general know-how, best practices and methods I've learned using similar tools.

Anyways, a product called After Effects was in the mix and I did not have a clue what it was or what it could do. Several months go by and I stumble across a tutorial site for that product (was looking for 3D modeling tutorials...which some are part of it too).

I was simply amazed at what this little gem could do. After watching quite a few tutorials, I now see TV advertisements and Movie Trailers in a whole new light...as well as know how to do similar effects quickly using After Effects!

Here are some of the tutorials that made my jaw drop to the floor in amazement and saw all kinds of possibilities for mod trailers and in-game cut-scenes for Oblivion.

Once on the page, hold mouse over the image for a preview and click on it to see the tutorial on how the effect was made (usually from scratch!)

I borrowed it from a friend once to see how it would run on my comp....turned out it won't even start :(

My processor is a bit too old....

I am now using Pinnacle Studio 12 and Sony Vegas Movies Studio 9 Platinum...but neither can exceed AfterFx

Cheers

Yeah, I've had a mess around with After Effects, but I never really made anything.

Next term though (in 1 week) the governments giving us all laptops to keep, and apparently they all have the complete adobe suite. So I should be able to have a better look at After Effects then, though I'll mostly be spending my time on Flash.

Its going to be cool!
