For some obscure reason that I can't figure out, I can't start this mission because the mission prior "Aiding the outcasts" doesn't complete. I sit in the simulator chair, but it doesn't give me the notification that the objective was completed, so now when I go into the simulation, Montgomery just keeps telling me to snap out of it and nothing else, as I can't talk to him for some reason.

Did you get the radio signal from the Outcasts? If not, are you using FOSE? I've heard reports that doing that can help with some people's systems after manually installing DLCs.

Yeah, I got the radio signal and all and got as far as getting into the simulation pod, but that's where things go sour. Also, I am using FOSE.

I'd have a simular problem, though my pod stops working once the "screen" turns white, might be cause I have't got the radio signal, does it comes around randomly or do I have to do

something to get it? Think I've wandered all over the waste by now.

In my case, I get into the pod, I enter the sim normally, but when the light fades, all I get is Montgomery telling me the same line, telling me to snap out of it. when I try to talk to him, it just makes the clicking noise that indicates something you can't interact with.

 

EDIT: I found and fixed the problem, so all is well. I turned off all of the gauss weapon mods and it worked fine.
