Will you be able to make Normal Maps in Photoshop for use in Oblivion? Will you be able to apply pharallax mapping and other mapping techniques to models and objects? smuli Posted September 7, 2005 Share Posted September 7, 2005 Gotta admit I don't know how normal- and parallax maps work but at least you can remake the other ones if there are such maps for the default models. Adding the maps is in theory possible without 3dsmax, but you'll lose a lot of the advantages. The huge advantage to normal mapping is being able to take a million-poly model and map it onto a 1000 poly in-game one, and have it look 90% as good. Painting that kind of map by hand would be impossible... but you could probably add tile lines in bricks, for example. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
