saxo74
Awesome feature but it would be nice for modders who can translate file themselves to give the possibility to link the file to different languages. I'm from France i provide english mods, but i translate it to french, i'd like to have the possibility to have both languages
kryptopyr
This sounds like a great feature, and I welcome it. I do wish there was a way for the author of the main mod to link the translated versions, so that even if the translators are no longer active, their files could be brought up to date with this new system. Also, I wonder if it might be possible to do something similar for patches, updates, or alternate versions of a mod that are created by someone other than the main mod author? I think it would be nice for mod authors who have included permission for others to "modify, update, and provide bug fixes" for their mods, to know that users would have the option to endorse both the original and the updated file. It would also make it easier for users to see if someone has created a patch or update for a certain mod. Thank you and keep up the good work. BrabbelKP
This probably woulden't be necessary if people woulds take the time to add at least the language tags to their mods. In fact, I remember seeing mods where the correct language or translation tags were explicitely declined, so I coulden't even vote them up. Deleted4363562User
In response to post #11883910. This is an excelent point. I'm sure they'll add a flag for this later. Again, good point.
Deleted4363562User
Seriously, Dark0ne, thank you. I've been hoping for this for a while now. I know how busy you guys are, and the fact you took the time to do this really does mean a lot. I think it will alleviate many problems. I love how you addressed the endorsement issue, and the fact that you made the distinction between endorsing the translation (for appreciation of the effort) and the original mod is also highly appreciated. I'll try to spread the word in the Spanish and French modding community about this. In the long run, I think if you guys keep up on multilingual support it will help to keep the Nexus ahead of the Steam Workshop and other modding sites. If you ever need help with modderating, I speak Spanish, French and Italian, and I'd be more than happy to help in that regard.
olho2013
In response to post #11948365. that's what i can't get it. a hundred would tag some mod as spanish, or as not-lore friendly, but if the author insist in lying, there's nothing you can do about it. bben46
I ran into this with a non English modder, they completely misunderstood the tags and had them reversed.
DrakeTheDragon
In response to post #11948365. #11998385 is also a reply to the same post. While "not lore-friendly" remains entirely debatable, the lore being completely rewritten with every game or DLC, and nowadays gets more used for "I don't like your sh** mod!" where applied, the language tags surely are a completely different story. There's no benefit in disallowing a language tag to be applied to your mod page, so I doubt it's done by malicious intent. I believe it's rather like Bben said and they're simply confusing the way it's meant to work.Hell, last time I tried I was having a hard time choosing the correct tags for my uploads. The present selection is entirely bogus at best, impossible to find the right ones without professional guidance at worst. And that's coming from me...I can only guess what it's like for people from a country where 'red' means "important" and 'green' is something "bad"! O.oAnd as for that "nothing you can do about it", you actually 'can' report a mod for tag abuse. The staff is watching this matter as well. But prepare to present quite some good reasons and explanations, if you just want the author-veto to be removed from "not lore-friendly"!
Legotrash
Great news! I always found it annoying that the translations would pop up along with the original mods. Since tags were mentioned I'd like to say that personally I had troubles with assigning tags for my uploads and in the end I gave up. So,about the language tags, maybe some people had similar problems as I had,who knows.
