alex2avs
General Load-Order Guidelines Here are the guidelines that I adhere to, personally. ~ Unofficial Oblivon Patch should always be first on the list. The fixes are great, but most aren't essential, so if a mod overwrites them its not a big deal, and the fixes have the potential for screwing up other mods if loaded later. ~ Offical Content (DLC's) should be loaded last, until you complete all quests associated with them (that includes buying all furniture for the houses and whatnot). Once they're complete, they can be safely moved up in the list. This is especially important for Knights of the Nine, which will have some fairly major problems unless loaded last (unless you get the UOP for KotN) ~ Major overhaul mods (OOO, Frans, MMM) should be loaded near the end. That gives you the most complete experience with any of those particular mods. It also lets you carefully choose which other mods to load afterwards... only move mods that you know will conflict and that you want the changes from. For example, I have Improved Soul Gems below OOO because I know that OOO changes the icons of some of the SG's, and ISG needs to be below to show through. Some people will recommend putting larger mods first, but personally I disagree. There are a number of mods out there that make minor tweaks, and loading after a large mod will end up completely overwriting a chunk from one of the bigger mods because of the way conflicts work in Oblivion (even one minor change will take precedence over the entire record... for example, simply tweaking the speed of a weapon can cause every stat of that weapon to be retained to vanilla levels if loaded later). So basically, it stacks up like this... Oblivion.esm Unofficial Oblivion Patch <Minor Mods / DLC's (Post-Completion)> <Major Overhaul Mod/Mods> <Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence> <DLC's (Pre-Completion)> Note: If using Mayu's Overhaul Mod. I recommend loading it after OOO or MMM Expanded Load-Order Guidelines by dev_akm I would extend this to include: Oblivion.esm Unofficial Oblivion Patch <Weather/Environment/Sound Mods> <Minor Mods/New Items/Houses/DLC's (Post-Completion)> <Major Overhaul Mods> <Mods that specifically conflict with overhauls and need to take precedence> <DLC's (Pre-Completion)> <Quests> <Compatibility Patches/UOMP/Merged Leveled Lists> And a special-case warning for Knights.esp (Knights of the Nine) -- you may not be able to move it earlier than some other mods (some people have had problems after moving it before OOO, for example). That's basically the structure I use and I have 140+ mods working well together. Another way of describing this (posted by DMan77): .... Oblivion unoffical patch Deeper realism mods that add sights and sounds added content like weapons/items gameplay changes, like 'must eat and sleep' The OOO type the 'new begining' type mod.. skalla
Okay my situation right now: It still crashes exactly like before.i did that new INI thing.I have run boss and it remade my load order. What am i supposed to do with wrye bash?Couldnt it be Some mixup with textures and [censored] because i've downloaded pretty much "beutiful people, beutiful faces" mods.I tried to disable all mods except for OBLIVION.ESM and ran and it crashed.i have tried "starting new game" instead of loading and it still crashes. bben46
I think you have just become the latest victim of the 'I can save a lot of time if I load a bunch of mods at once.' The time you saved is more than lost trying to figure out which mod(s) cause the problems that inevitably happen. Are you starting the game using OBSE and NOT the Oblivion launcher icon?Do you have the latest official patch?
Maigrets
Most times when the game just shuts down as you describe it's because of a missing Master file, but if it's happening without mods and only Oblivion ESM, this is likely to be because your saves have retained data that is dependent on master files, or have become corrupt. It doesn't have anything to do with textures and meshes. Are you getting an error message when the game shuts down? Or does it just drop to the Desktop? Don't even worry about Wrye Bash until you have the original game working and that also goes for OBSE and mods that require it. Add one mod at a time and check that it works. Then add more...slowly. Some of the mods in your list I'm not familiar with so which ones require OBSE? Most of the ones I know in the list don't. Also if you haven't done so disable all Auto saving in the option menu and probably Quicksave. I always use Quicksave with no issues, but I delete it and make a new one nearly every time I play depending on what I've done in game. However, a lot of people recommend disabling it.Make plenty of hard saves to fall back on. You can always delete the ones you don't need and don't save over them. It causes corruption. One other point before you even think about adding more cosmetic mods........Beautiful People is incompatible with pretty much every other race and cosmetic mod. You might want to look into removing it and using something else. If this is happening on a brand new game reinstalling may be the only option. If you kept the downloaded mod files you can reinstall them including the DLC's, I believe. I have the KOTN DVD, so I don't know what happens when you download them from Bethesda. I don't have any of them installed anyway. If you decide to reinstall note that when uninstalling all files aren't removed completely. Entries can be retained in the Registry and your Documents folder that need to be removed. Quoted from the Oblivion Readme:Installation IssuesIf you repeatedly uninstall and re-install Oblivion, certain systems will display an error message if you try to uninstall Oblivion again. To fix this, put your Oblivion disk in and run setup.exe. This will clear up the error and you can uninstall and reinstall the game.A good article on mods at the CS Wiki. Everything you need to know including troubleshooting.http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index...livion_Mods_FAQ Sometimes reinstalling is the best way to fix problems like this if you can't find what's causing it. Just take is slow next time.
dezdimona
as bben mentioned "batch" loading mods is a disaster just waiting to happen.Loading one at a time and verifying it works in game before adding another will save you time and headaches down the road. The race still goes to the tortise in this case!
