Familiar Faces in Oblivion

I think it’s likely we’ll meet Caius Cosades again. He knew the Empire would collapse with the death of Uriel Septim and he’s probably taken steps to protect himself and his family. The Blades will undoubtedly have a role to play in the defense of Cyrodiil and in the Imperial succession.

Will we again share a cell with poor Juib? Have Divayth Fyr’s researches brought him to consult the rare tomes of the Imperial Library? Is dear old uncle Crassius here in Cyrodiil City to attend the Old Emperor’s funeral?

What continuing NPCs would you like to see in TES IV? Are there some you would prefer not to see? Are there some you will murder if they show up in Oblivion?

Well what happens to the millions of bloodthirsty players who have wiped out everybody? I suspect they'll mostly be new unless the character can genuinely have escaped these madmen. Jiub is about the only one I can think of you couldn't kill.

Personally I wouldn't mind anyone who didn't have bloody boring generic dialogue.

It's Jiub, isn't it? :P

The devs have deliberately not said much about cameos, which suggests there probably will be a few. But they have said that they won't do this to any great, or plot affecting extent as they want Oblivion to be a standalone title. They don't want characters from Morrowind in the storyline so people have to go back and play it to fully understand.

I agree about Caius, I wouldn't be surprised if he does pop up again, however I doubt he will be involved in the Blades quests, due to what the devs have said. After all, he was retiring, right? I wouldn't be so sure about more minor characters like Divayth Fyr or Crassius making gratuitous appearances though. Nor would I want them to... no need to plug old characters IMO. Jiub might pop up again just for a joke though. :P

From oblivionportal.com:

Lord Fargoth

Fargoth.  After being driven to complete madness by his ring, or more accurately the lack of him ever having his ring, he ran far from Seyda Neen and found his way into the care of a daedric prince.  After months of resting his strength grew to untold highs, his quest for revenge giving him a greater purpose, one by one the daedric princes fell before him, leaving him as the unchallenged ruler of all of Oblivion.  He returns as Lord Fargoth to complete his revenge on the inhabitants of Tamriel.
