OracleOfThessia
Alright, I'm just getting started with this whole modding bit, and I wanted to extract some of the vanilla armor and weapons to do some editing and tweaking and experimenting, and I was wondering how to extract the models and textures from the game, and get them into a 3d modeling program? because I can't figure it out
BadPenney
Download Fallout Mod Manager. use the BSA Unpacker to search and extract meshes and textures from Fallout - Meshes.bsa and Fallout - Textures.bsa.
OracleOfThessia
what format are those in? if they are .nif, I have another question, what do I use to get those into a 3d modeling program (preferably not blender, I can't get it to work on my computer  )
MeguRyel
You use one of the niftools to import it into the program of your choice; I think there are plugins for most modelling programs.
BigKevSexyMan
If you don't have 3ds max, then I suggest you use blender and look up the tutorials on youtube about taking your models from blender to fallout 3.
dthumb
Hmm, Blender won't work? Do you have Python Script? You need to download that, it runs along with blender.
OracleOfThessia
Ya, Python was the part that wouldn't work right, kept giving me errors and such
