Selling enchanted items doesn't level speech.

I just created a large amount of enchanted iron daggers to level up my enchanting skill. When I went to sell them, the speech xp bar didn't move at all no matter how many I sold. Selling non-enchanted items seemed to work, however. I tried disabling all of the "major" mods I have installed, and the problem still did not go away. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I know this thread old as hell but want to chime in that I'm having the same issue. Had a bunch of mods that might have affected this, Weapons & Armor Clutter fixes that messes with values, Awakened Magicka which messes with enchants (though lightly), plus the patch USSEP. Disabled all of it except SKSE and SKYUI. Controlling mods with MO so afaik disabling it has it completely removed from the game's folder.

 

Noticed it with player enchanted items, but confirmed with found enchanted items. I know it's vanilla because it was still there after everything else removed, so know it wasn't from a mod.

Sold an ebony armor valued ~1500, sold at about ~700. Speech went up a sizeable chunk.

Sold an enchanted necklace valued ~1700, sold at about ~750. Speech did not budge one bit.

 

Have not tried a brand new character, seems time consuming but maybe will try.

You're not alone OP, this is a weird one.

 

In your case you have to wonder if either: 1) the base item (necklace) is NOT vanilla and not "properly" made to be recognized or 2) in a similar vein, if the enchantment is not vanilla and is not recognized.
