Switch
I don't think this really belongs in Classic Games... Black & White isn't very old, and the second one certainly isn't. :D Moving this to PC Gaming...

Preacher
Awesome game, really innovative, wouldn't call it a benchmark cos no one really copied it! But still one of a kind! Be honest: Hands up who actually beat level 5 of the single player without cheating? *crickets chirping* *cough, cough*
Lycan
I don't know any cheats (I don't play ANY games with cheats) so i completed the game with no cheats. The 5-th level was difficult and that curce, when your creature begins to shrink is horrible!!!!My creature is 69 years old and he is still short!!! Did you know, that Black&White2 is OUT!!!I have got my colectors edision of Black&White2 :D But it needs a video card, that supports a pixel shader 1.1 :*( (or something like that.)So I haven't played it yet, but i WILL.And the recuaerments are huge:minimum:1.6 GHz512 MB RAMCD/DVD ROM3.5 GB size on disk64 MB video card, with pixel shader 1.1 supportWindows 2000/XP and others (I don't remember)Well I think that's all, but I am not sure, if I remembered it all... marcel adam
Black and White 1 and 2 are totally buggy.Of course its one of the best games ever made.If you bring up some nervs.
loveme4whoiam
I know that B&W1 was fairly buggy, but none of the reviews I've read on number 2 say that it is. I never got close to completing the first game, the quest with that damn annoying little monk that you had to follow round the mountain put me off after a couple thousands attempts. I'll get B&W2 simply because it is, as you say, completely unique. I think the reason no-one else has copied it is because it'd be such a huge undertaking, although stuff like the learning behaviour of the creature should be applied to other games. marcel adam
Yeah you have a bunch of Arguments for the Game and I liked playing it,until I almost destroyed my Keyboard cause of that f.... Monkey,a bug that has been fixed today I hope. I read the Report on the PC Action, they say its one of the best Games and Game Ideas ever created. But at the very first start they couldnt even get in the Start screen, for over 30 Minutes, until it finally started. And as I read it was one of the minor Bugs ingame.
Switch
I haven't experienced any major problems with B&W2. It all works fine, except for a few minor things. Like the positions of villagers/soldiers can change when you load a save game. Once I saved when an army was outside my walls, I loaded and they were inside. But they were squashed right up against them and it hasn't happened since. They have released a patch that fixes a lot of the issues though. But if you don't download it before you start playing it's not worth it as it invalidates all 1.0 savegames. The problem I'm having at the moment is it crashes every time I try to get to Land 7. But I think that's a hardware issue as I've had to revert to a lesser PC as of late due to my old case frying itself. All in all it's a great game, and as far as I've seen it doesn't have many bugs. I was never a particular fan of B&W. It intrigued me because it was something new and innovative and, as far as I know, the first engine to implement proper virtual physics. But yeah, so much of the gameplay was *far* too irritating. For once the sequel is a huge improvement IMO.
marcel adam
I dont want the Game,it costs a lot of nervs. But like you sayed with upcoming Patches the Problem will be solved. Im waiting for COD2 and Aftermath and most of all Oblivion.I mean who needs B+W 1 or 2 if you can have HL2 or the Elder Scroll Series.
