uLtImAtE Posted July 27, 2009 Share Posted July 27, 2009 Hello Nexus Community I checked many sites now to find a sollution for my problem but I haven't found one yet, so I decided to make a Thread about this ;) I restarted playing Fallout 3 a week ago, got myself Patch 1.6, Point lookout and several user made mods. I use FOMM and FoSENow to my problem: I wanted a new house for my character so I downloaded some house mods.If I enter this house and later go to Megaton or some other places in DC, I get a crash on save. This really annoyed me but I thought it was just a compatibility issue. I also noticed that the walls of the houses disappear if I load a savegame near them (very strange).I now made a clean save and tried only one house mod that used to crash (http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6394)It just keeps crashing, that means it was no compatibility issue. Now I really got pissed off and tried some other house mods with clean saves... with the same result :wallbash: The only exception I had so far was RR Companions Vault, I've got no problems with this one. mechine Posted July 28, 2009 Share Posted July 28, 2009 The only thing that all of the house mods in question have in common is your install Which leads me to believe that you have a corupted save game. I guess you could download every house mod that is on the site then start a new game to confirm. but I'm pretty sure a crash upon save is a red flag for a corupted save point. I heard yesterday that a game or save game can even go corupt up to an hour or more before it actually crashes. Even letting it save a corupted save or corupted data into a new save which would cause crashes upon every save past. I guess you could roll back as far as you could. and after that you would need to start a new game. Probably. I think even if we could get it to work, that it would come back to haunt us later on. FO3edit's master update is pretty great if you ask me. ilDuderoni Posted July 29, 2009 Share Posted July 29, 2009 I heard Quicksave's can easily be subject to corrupting.Even without a CTD.Think it has something to do about saving while still in the middle of gameplay.Whereas a normal save sends you to pause-menu, which pauses gameplay, and can save data more 'peacefully'.But I'm just guessing. I always say to keep an ultimate backup handy.I got one WAY before I got any DLC, and one at the end of BS's main storyline. Btw, uLti, did you do the AII thing? Archive Invalidation Invalidated? Its pretty easy since you already have FOMM, which can do that for you.Well, hardly ANY mod would function if you didn't, so I'm just gonna assume you did... But just in case...
