Vagrant0
It's been awhile since I made a post which spoiled peoples' fun, so forgive me if I'm a bit rusty. Let's start off with the first 7, then head to your images.I have aa lot of ideas so feel free to use them Ok heres a list of ideasIDEA WHAT IT DOES1.A Robe of storms A robe that does electric damage to self without hurting you2.A daedric city Adds a city with oblivion gates surrounding itA daedric fraction This will allow you to become a daedric championA ring of daedric peace to keep daedric from attacking youAnd stores owned by daedric 3.Trimed armor Adds white armor with gold or black trimBlack armor with red or gold trimBlue armor with white trim4.Armor of spikes Adds armor that has spikes on the backglass,Steel, imperial,or Blackwood 5.A Town underwater This adds a big town submerged under waterWith new armor and new questArmor up to you Quest up to you too but make sure the last quest is to become The count or king of the city and take control of the triton6. Horse maniquins this would allow you to display horse armor it could have a feature to allow you to put renozed maniquins on it to have a rider7. your ideas dont forget to look at images for ideas and DONT FORGET TO READ COMMENTS THERE ARE LOTS OF GOOD IDEAS THERE 1. In itself is pointless since a. on self effects always bypass resistances b. a resisted spell will not show any visuals. If the visuals are all you want, unfortunately even a clothing item which forces the magic visuals has a tendency to cause other problems. 2. Was done, was one of the earlier city mods. Didn't get much interest. Some other mods, like project Oblivion seem to be aimed at making similar stuff though. The problem with making the standard Daedra non-hostile with the player is that it interferes with several parts of the MQ, makes Oblivion gate runs kinda boring, and makes it so that whenever you attack a daedra, it counts as an assault. 3. Armor mods require talented, interested people to do them. Adding trim requires someone who knows how to use graphics software, and wants to spend the time doing minor additions that most wouldn't even notice. Unfortunately, something like trim still requires editing and copying the whole texture just for those small, modified parts. The good news is that it is fairly easy to do, and does not require making new normal maps. The bad news is that you still need someone with some experience and interest to take the time to do it. 4. Adding spikes however is a bit different. Although it sounds simple, it is really quite complicated since this requires having ability to make new meshes, and to weight them to the body. Additionally, adding stuff like spikes can quickly look very, very, VERY stupid, and may not work in any application with most armors. As it is on the back, it would likely clip with most furniture, all capes, and not really ever be seen. 5. Underwater cities just simply, do not work. The game does not allow for normal pathing to be used under water, and your usual wander packages will not do anything. Furthermore, dialogue underwater doesn't make any sense. Then there are the limits of how deep you can go beneath 0 height before the LODs cause problems. Add that to the usual, excessive amount of time needed to make any sort of city, the massive amount of time which would be needed to make the resources for that city, and the insane amount of time needed to make a questline of any length, let alone figure out what is accomplished by "taking control". There are virually 0 underwater environments in Oblivion for a reason, it just doesn't work, even after someone has spent a very long time trying. 6. There is a very significant difference here. Horse armor is not actually armor. Horse armor is simply a horse creature which is specifically defined to have an additional mesh component active. This is similar to how those blade skeletons have helmets that you can't loot, or how goblins have armor that you cannot loot. These meshes are part of the actual creature, and cannot be used on their own. Furthermore, since horse armor is a DLC that people have to buy, you cannot use any of those resources as the basis for any sort of static which might, possibly, be used to just have a display of said armor. Unlike other DLC resources, one cannot simply hold back the texturing and say that it requires the DLC since the DLC itself is the mesh and texture, with no other content. As such, even uploading the unweighted armor mesh might be reason enough to have the mod pulled for legal issues. 7. Not really an idea, but more of a statement. About Images... First off, there are literally thousands of armor request images in this section alone. Many of what you have posted have already been requested in the las few years, some of them multiple times. The problem is not that they may not look cool. The problem is that there are very few people who can do anything of that kind of detail, and most of them are neck deep in other projects that they are more interested in. Furtherstill, some of these persons who have the talent have been turned off by the community and the tendency for some to flame their works. Armor mods can require the most time, skill, and effort, but are often the least acknowledged (unless they show alot of female skin). As such, most only do the work that they themselves want, and no not even look at requests for ideas. Additionally, requests which are made with a single, low quality image, from one view, often with weapons, shields, floaty strips of cloth, and other flair are almost useless for the purposes of any real work since the components cannot be clearly seen and distinguished. Secondly, many armor requests feature things like capes, robes, and other loose floating pieces which simply cannot be done within Oblivion to any degree that people would want to use for anything other than screenshots. Since often these requests feature very little else redeeming, there is often little point to even attempting them. Third, the more detail a request has, the harder it is to do, the more time it takes, and as a result, the less likely anyone would ever be able to have the time to get even a small portion complete. It takes alot of time to make even something as simple as a shirt from scratch, several hours infact. Super detailed armors require not only many hours spent making the mesh, and then weighting it, but also many more hours trying to make the texturing. Almost everything requested would take well over 90 hours to make. You simply won't get that kind of effort from a modder unless they are being paid for their time. For most of us 90 hours is 2-3 weeks of solid effort, and that's provided that the person making them knows beforehand EXACTLY how to construct it all. . They may look cool, but take a hell of alot more time that you seem to think, and alot more time than most realize. The mods with the greatest chance of being done are those mods which look close enough to what can be done with existing meshes, but different enough to be interesting.
