LorenzoAlazas
Hi there. Today, 15 February, 2014, I decided to use BOSS for fun. Little did I know, it screwed up my mod load order and the main menu selections did not appear. I have since uninstalled it. Now unfortunately, I had no pictures or backup of my previous mod load order, except for a Mod Manager tracelog from the first of this month. I reordered my load order to the same order in the tracelog, hoping to have my main menu options appear. Sadly, they have not. If anyone could go through the load order pictures attached, that'd be great. Until then, I'll be going through the mod pages, one by one, until I find proper load orders. I also installed some (like 5 or 6) mods from the Skyrim workshop. P.S, what I do know is that Dragon Combat Overhaul goes below the Dance of Death. eSoDian
99.9% of the time BOSS rearranges your load order correctly and warns you about possible conflicts and whatnot between your mods.If by screwed you mean the load order is different from how you made it yourself, that's only normal, since BOSS follows a set of rules on how to arrange the mods for better compatibility. Though you can set your own custom user rules, in the event that some mod isn't placed right OR update the BOSS masterlist (the app has the option to do it), you might be using old sorting rules. Also what do you mean by "main menu selections"? If you mean the actual main menu of the game, that happens cause a mod you're using is missing a master file. For example if you would've used BOSS instead of manually rearranging your mods, it would have sorted "Sneak Tools" correctly, the way you have it now, it will CTD at the logo. "Sneak Tools.esp" has to be before the other 2 plugins of similar name. I only noticed that mod so far, cause I was familiar with it, who knows what else is placed wrong; a BOSS log is a lot more useful than a screeshot of a load order that doesn't really say much. (NO1 rule always backup your files/settings when using third party tools "for fun" if you're not entirely sure what you're doing.) eSoDian
Was saying in general it's always a good idea to backup anything that you might modify and can't revert back (and this is not limited to just the game). In your case, seeing as you use NMM, if you go at the Plugins tab, there's a button on the left side where you can export your load order. You'll also find an import button, which is useful if you made changes you didn't want, but don't know how they were originally, the import option let's you load a "load order" that you have previously exported, which will re-arrange your mods to how they were last time. Purr4me
How would I back up the settings, as you say? If the skyrim community has any tools to read and export a saved game file, use that to recover your "lost" load order. A saved game contains the exact placement of a working game set, it's the games data base built from a play through. Mod Organizer By Tannin42 has such a viewer built in, and can show the exact load order the saved game had in it, it may be your only recourse to fix it if you want. This is in response to this:Hi there. Jeir
You could also use Wrye Bash to check the load order for a particular save. Load up Bash, click on the Saves tab, click on a save, and look at the column on the right.
