Using OMODs to clean up previous mods.

I had been reluctant to use the Mod Manager for quite some time, since (to be honest) I didn't quite understand it. However, I just discovered that a TON of my mods have OMOD conversion data, and that I can create the mod straight from their archive.

Now, I have rather a lot of non-OMOD mods in my game, and the prospect of removing any given mod is a bit daunting, as there are rather a lot of files stored in several different folders. My question is this: Say I had HGEC. It's bugging me for some reason, so I want to get rid of it. Could I download it again, use the OMOD version, activate it, and then deactivate it to clean the files out?

Thanks for help in advance.

If you guys have any other mod management tips, throw 'em at me.

If you still had the original archive, you could convert it into an OMOD. You would not even need to de-install, install and uninstall. There is an option to "clean" which will examine the OMOD and remove every file that matches in the Oblivion Data folder...effectively uninstalling the mod files...even if they were placed there manually.

Check my web site (sig) for OBMM tutorials.
