silasthecat Posted August 4, 2009 Share Posted August 4, 2009 I've been searching many many forums and tried everything to fix my sound problems (static, popping completely indecipherable music). I'm running Vista with an IDT high Definition Sound Card. I'd previously tried installing and installing K-Lite and CCCP in different combinations, AC3 Filter, changing cache size, etc. Finally, thanks to this forum, I found the solution: 1.:Install InstalledCodec:http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/installed_codec.html 2. Disable Every codec. 3. Run Fallout 3 At this point, the game played music fine. All I had to do at that point was re-activate 50% of the codecs at a time until I found the culprits. In my case, it was Sonic HD Demuxer and Sonic HD Nav. If anyone with problems wants to start by deactivating those two, they might get lucky :-) Just wanted to post in case there's anyone else out there that was as desperate for a fix as I was :-) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
