What are you going to do when oblivion is released

Lets see....

1) Fall over drooling and twitching as I see the actual box.

2) Do an overly enthusiastic happy dance.

3) Suddeny 'fall extremely ill' and need to stay home for the rest of the school year.

4) Fight off my brother who will also be attempting to play Oblivion.

5) Play Oblivion a lot

6) Call Malchik for help when I'm so fat I can't get out of my chair

7) Keep playing Oblivion, anyway.

In reality, we'll probably get it and my brother and I will trade off playing it. Once we get far enough in, he'll start looking for mods and I'll start making them/helping other modders with their own mods- I have one mod on tap that will be made a few months into playing Oblivion, and hopefully I'll know how to use Blender by then as well as be an expert in the contruction set, so I'll likely be helping Sabregirl with WOTT for Oblivion (if she makes it), and with her Pharlans if not.

1) Get the game probably as a gift

2) Try not to seem too excited while I install it

3) Smell the box and the manual and try not to miss any splash screens during the install

4) Make a nice big cup of tea

5) Pet my cat

6) PLAY!

7a) If it works on my system, play play play until my gf realises this was all a big mistake

7b) If it doesnt work, waste two days trying to get it to work

8) Feel desolate and lonely

9) Pet my cat even more

10) Dress up as Fargoth and while the original Morrowind is installing go and ask Outlanders if they have seen my ring..

11) Once I have found my ring sell it to a tall yellowish chap wearing an expensive dress(which I also sold him)

12) Buy a new video card with all the gold

13) Go back to 7a ;)

1) Start a new thread on the forum called: WHAT LVL IS YOUR CHAR!

2) Watch the never ending flood of "OMG I AM TEH LVL 45 elf!! PICZ PLZ?" posts. :P

3) Run like hell to prevent Stampede from using his still unmentioned but unfortunetely (for me) existing "ÜBER IRRITATING N()()B KILLAH FLAMETRHOWER" near my head. ;)

4) Sell my younger brother to the nearest pawn-broker.

5) Buying a better computer for the money earned.

6) Eventually buy back my brother from the pawn-broker...

7) Explaining to my mother why I sold my brother, and then run like hell again because she sertainly won't understand why Oblivion is more important then my brother :P

With the release delay I predict I'll do the following:

1. Play Morrowind for therapy caused by the dissapointment due to lack of Oblivion in my life. It gives me a universe I can control.

2. See if I care to try and make the painfully buggy Vampire Bloodlines work a bit more.

3. Give up and repeat step 1.

4. Half heartedly see if a prince in Persia can fornicate with a dead harem syren.

5. Repeat step 3.

6. Motivate myself by learning more about the construction set, and make yet another abode for my character to grow out of , which I can never release cause I was trying my hand at scripting at the same time and its a mess.

7. Repeat step 3.

8. Cry into my Christmas sock because its full of sand and not Oblivion.

9. Repeat step 3.

10. Repeat step 3. And sulk.

11.Wait for Oblivion

12. Wait for Oblivion. And sulk.

13. Repeat step 10.

14. Get married. :D

15. Repeat steps 9 to 13, ad naseum

whaaaaaaaaaaaah :(

I'm going to get it as soon as it comes out of course. I'll see how it runs on my comp, but I may have to do some tweaking to get it running with a decent framerate.

Hopefully polearms will be implemented. I found polearms to have been underdone in Morrowind and wouldn't mind seeing some variation in models and some interesting animations for them. My Lancer with a high Acrobatics and Spear skill with a Jump spell didn't really feel too much like Kain :P

Hopefully I won't have to work the day it comes out (or the next day for that matter) so I can play it all day and night. I plan on getting into the modding community with this iteration of TES, so I'll have to whip out the construction set as soon as possible. Between now and then I think I'll get myself some practice with 3DS Max and play around a bit with modelling and texturing so I can get in on that action (gotta remember to put my sexy face in the game ;) )
