Enemies more aware when their frinds die

The problem with the flee AI is that it's about as effective as wearing paper armor with a bullseye drawn on your back. Any time I've seen an NPC (non-child) enter flee mode, they always die.

 

As for a search procedure, it would probably help if the game could properly navigate NPCs. If they can do more than stand around picking their nose, I consider that a miracle. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it won't be easy.
