PurpleXVI
A friend of mine who isn't very handy at all with editing stuff wanted a Morrowind house. He wasn't very happy with most of the house mods he'd found, so he just decided to move into one of the NPC houses in Caldera after murdering all of the occupants. The house was a bit cluttered, he said, and he'd really like more containers for storing stuff. Martyr that I am, I offered to edit the place for him. The editing went well, I tested the mod on my computer, no warning messages, I entered the house, screwed around with the stuff, everything seemed perfect. Then I sent it to him and..... It just didn't work. No warning messages. No nothing. The house just simply remained in it's original state. He's patched to the same version as I, so I know that's not the problem. Anyone got any suggestions?
Marxist ßastard
Tell him to make completely sure that only the new version of the mod is loaded, and then ask him to try it with a new game.
PurpleXVI
Any other suggestions that might work? I know it's only the mod he's got loaded, in addition to the base files necessary for running the game of course. And since it requires him to make a trip to Caldera, he might be averse to spending the time required to create a new character and run over there. But I'll give it a shot. Switch
I think references to old interior versions can sometimes be left on your character, even after the mod is removed, overwriting any new work. As MB says, starting a new game may be the only way to get the mod to work correctly. There is a way to "clean" savegames of such things I think, but I'm afraid I can't tell you much about that. PurpleXVI
I'm thinking that perhaps if I renamed the interior cell, it might make the game load the new version instead of loading the old version. So I'm giving that a try, just to see. Well, Switch, my attempt failed. Any knowledge you have about "cleaning" savegames would be highly appreciated. Or just if you could guide me to a guide or someone who can tell me more Edit: Posts merged
