Bolgo The Madd
Assuming I have permission from the mod creators.OR if I was inclined to never put it on the web.... How would I go about mixing a bunch of mods together? What steps would you take first? How would you go about inspecting each mod...A utility, looking it over in the CS first? Obviously I want to combine some mods into a single plugin.Something I can give to my girlfriend in one giant package(innuendo?) Anyone have a list? What's the protocol?Modders step by step bible? Thanks :surprise: glut glut
Gabbemaster
The utility you shall use is the "TESame", but I think this "big mod pack" idea has been tried before without satisfying results, because to many mods out there have bugs.
Switch
It has indeed been tried before. Someone tried to smush about 1000 mods together into one big file... must've spent months on it, I think he gave up in the end. There are just too many conflicts to merge even a small number of mods together. If you're looking for a present for your GF, I suggest just sticking with chocolates! :D Either that or just get a bunch of mods and put them in a zip file. Gabbemaster
It has indeed been tried before. Someone tried to smush about 1000 mods together into one big file... Yes... That guy posted some posts about it here on the forum if I remeber it right... But then he just stopped posting :/ Chocolates? I have allways been succesfull with those little Chocolate-bunnaes. Girlfriend: "Aw! How cute!" *hugh*, *kiss*, *clothes of*, *and so forth*. I think chocolate is way more romantic then mods... But maybe that's just me ??? ;)
Bolgo The Madd
Hmm.... I'll compromise with you.How about we put chocolates into the mod!?That, and enough awesome custom clothes, would make her happy. But I'm not trying to do 1000 mods. More like 20. I'm not afraid to move some mountains with TES Faith, if need be. (I'm kind of afraid of that) And I don't mind a little scripting. (I mind a lot of it) Just figuring it a decent load order is hard enough. The most I got working at once was 215, which quickly became 195... and it only lasted 3 hours, until a fatal crash. Combining all the 'fix' mods was easy enough... I guess we'll just inspect them one by one in the load order, and see what's what... Besides TESame - can you guys tell me if Wrye Mash 0.59 is as good as it seems?Seems a little too good to be true, but maybe Wrye is a genious or something. What about GMST clean? Thanks for the wordsI'll try not to get in too deep1000 mods? .... sheesh. :/ glut glut
Malchik
You haven't indicated what kind of mods you are talking about. There are many small localised mods or game tweaks that can probably be merged with approval from original modders. There are also quite a few mods out there that cause problems as they are. The Balmora expanded mod merged several together and you might want to contact them directly for info on what they did/found. But I'm not quite sure if I see the point. Select the mods you'd like her to have, buy her something that keeps her away while you load them and then have it so they are all ready to run next time she plays. That way she gets the same MW experience and if there happens to me a mod she loathes you can turn it off without losing everything. If she likes things cute and cuddly go for Emmas mods which add cute and cuddly companions, children, teddy bears and romantic (if a little sugary) quests like the White Wolf of Lokken. If she prefers the hardbitten assassin approach look for things like assassins armoury, Suran Underground etc. And if she gets the same pleasure from a bunch of mods as other people do from a bunch of flowers, surprise with a small bunch every couple of weeks rather than one great big bunch all at once. It shows your continuing interest in her. too.
Tadaen Sylvermane
one thing you could do before attmpting to merge them all is use TESPCD. i have 20 or so mods active at any given time but each mod is merged and compiled, id say total i have bout 80-100 mods, zero problems
