Random CTDs

I've searched around a lot for a solution to the infamous CTDs, and I've found nothing that worked.

So far I've updates .net and VBC++ that everyone said Bethesda let the betas of those on the disk. I've downgraded to 1.0. and from what I've found it runs better, but still crashes (1.0, crashes after about an hour, 1.7 after about 30minutes)

But my story: My system is much more than the minimum requirements (nVidia 9500GT, 4GB Ram, Intel core2quad, Vista x64) but it still spontaniously and without warning crashes. So, is there any solution to this?

Well you could also have a corupt save game

or many other issues

shoot you could have a pistol weapon mesh that's missing a animated part

even a tiny part

http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_1.html

Hit up the tweek guide above too, bring out that super powerz system you have there

I used the tweak guide, specifically to alter some multithreading parts of the configuration. and the preloadsize and the interior and exterior buffer

There were a few that sounded like it might not mess things up like the ones you said

but in the end it's will either help you or hurt you, it's experimental at best

There were those that you just set to 1 maybe 7-8 of them that were spread out an hard to find

then the page file one, about using hard drive cashe

You can sort of open it in note pad an change the format tab so the font text size is like 20 lol so you can read it

I would vote to use the mild tweeks an then change them around or even revert back to the original settings

to test it out.

You said random though, maybe there is something that it can be linked to

Like one time I had these crashes, an it got linked to the save game because I had checked everything else

and even against a new game start as a control group

oh yeah, look into the mod that is called something like purge cell buffer or something

it worked good for oblivion an they say the same for fallout 3, haven't tried

I forget the name of the mod I'll try to find it

but pretty much it says the chaos in the wasteland creates a lot of trash data or stuff thrown around here an there

this mod would purge that crap every so often

I also heard someone say save files that have a size over 20Mb the game doesn't like em

As I was saying before those posts went MIA, I did update to 1.7 and my load order is:

Fallout3.esm

CALIBR.esm

FOOK.esm

UPP - Pack 1.esp

UPP - Original Perks.esp

UPP - Pack 2.esp

FOOK - Free Play After MQ.esp

FOOK - Test Container.esp

FOOK - Owned!.esp

FOOK.esp

PCB.esp

Total active plugins: 11

Total plugins: 11

Not sure why PCB is at the bottom on my list it is inbetween UPP - Pack 2.esp and FOOK - Free Play After MQ.esp

and I do use FOMM and FOSE

Does PCB actually do anything? In my testing, it actually caused a small amount of instability rather than stability. I chalked it up to bobble and discarded it from my list of plugins.

Another thing would be to check your nVidia driver, and see whether it's the latest (190.38, IIRC).
