Hmm, I guess those are reasons why costs are going up. Not that I have to like them. So I guess this is undeniably the truth of the world - mature, innovative games just can't compete in a world of accountants, plebian console-players (biased much :P ) and sure-fire sellers like the next Sims add-on. Unless there's some magical deity with a lot of money on his hands to fund smart gaming houses (come on Bill, time to do something for the people...) *looks around hopefully*

I wouldn't count on it. According to these "experts", Microsoft have covered the "crucial" genres with their supposed excellent release line-up for the XBox 360. Mainly, sports, racing, and first-person shooters. Those are considered crucial by these people. :rolleyes: AKA, the most easy money-makers. This is why I won't be buying this console. :P

 

There is hope though, as apparently there are plans by Sony to continue to support and manufacture the Playstation 2 (with its cheaper development costs) through 2010. Whether they'll stick to that however is another thing. However Microsoft seem to be considering withdrawing from XBox as early as Summer next year. Typical...

Weither your killing people (Grand Theft Auto) or just getting mellow while smoking that green liquid (Gothic 2). Mature gaming can be a healthy way of exspressing the desire of doing things that people are not suppose to in real life. This is why Mature games are so much fun and it's not everyday you get to !@ someone up with a nailgun (Quake).
