Unarmored Assasin

Hey all,

 

Im trying to creat a RP assasin. When I think about it, I dont see an assasin wearing any kind of armor. You cant really sneak up on someone with armor, shield and dagger. My question is this- is unaarmored and block going to be sufficient?

 

Also, what are some good skills for my wood elf assasin? I have Short blade, Marksman, Sneak and alteration (I dont like lockpicking) as majors.

Unarmored in Morrowind doesn't work unless your character is wearing at least one piece of armor. People who play unarmored monks have to wear at least one cloth bracer or they are dead meat. Pick Unarmored as a major or minor skill.

 

Using the block skill implies using a shield. If you want to use a light shield, pick light armor as a skill. That way you can work up to a glass shield and use the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide if your assassin is in a tight jam later in the game. Of course, pick Block as a major or minor skill if you plan to use it a lot.

 

Training in the Spear skill would let you build up your endurance since you won't be using medium or heavy armors. You don't need to pick it as a major or minor though.

Alchemy is a very powerful skill if you like mess around in your lab at night. Illusion is good for a stealthy character too.

Playing unarmored is possible but harder than playing in a heavy tin suit. The other skills you picked look good. Hope this helps!

How does spear training help with endurance (hope that not a dumb question, I been playing for 2 years)

Because Endurance is its governing attribute. If you train it up 10 points before you level, you'll get a 5x bonus to Endurance once you level. So in 10 levels you can get 50 points to Endurance, if you keep at it.

 

You could always go for The Lady as a birthsign too, for that ever cheap but ever so useful +25 bonus to Personality and Endurance.

Why? I'm doing not too bad without any armor at all. Does it make any difference?

Yes it does. If you aren't wearing any armor, you take lots of damage. If you have a high-level character and take off your armor, you may be able to get by since you also have high health. You may usually take out enemies with spells or ranged weapons before they can even reach you anyway.

Starting characters will have work much harder to keep opponents from reaching them. If a dying enemy can land a single blow, it may kill a low-level unarmored character.

 

This bug also affects shield spells (no armor = shield spell not working correctly)
