jjb54
A couple of friends and I have been "Blasted" at times from Mod Creators for "... not taking the time read the forum posts ... to find answers to already answered questions ..." Okay, the problem w/this - some mod forums have easily 100+ - 1,000+ posts. This specific Forum had over 400+ posts ... and yes it could be missed as it was asked 1 time some where mid way between the 400 posts. No it was not in the Description Page. So would it be possible in some not so future update - to get Text Search? Please?? Thanks - Jj ....
M48A5
In the upper right corner of the page is a box "Search..." , to the far right is a gear wheel. If you left click on the gear, you will be taken to the advances search page. There are various options for setting your search parameters. Thandal
Also... Google is your friend. Put in the issue/problem/etc. and "site:nexusmods.com" It's amazing how helpful the results can be! (Heck, leave off the "site:" part. Still useful before posting another "I can't make this mod work..." entry when the issue was addressed in the Description, Readme, earlier in the thread, or elsewhere on the internetz. )
Oubliette
Or:Find the specific release thread of the mod by going to it (the mod's download location) on the Nexus site. Click on the comments tab. At the top of the comments section there is a link that says "go to forum thread" click it. In the upper right of the forum thread there is as previously mentioned a search button (this way it will already be queued to look in the specific mod thread you're having problems with) type in your search terms and hit enter. The fact that this has always been possible is likely why modders give mod users the stink eye when they ask the same question repeatedly. jjb54
Okay - I do not think we are talking the same thing: (I just tried the above recommendation.)FINE PRINT: Unless I'm totally missing what you are saying? (Which could be ... and I admit it, I am human.) IE: Real case: Mod Forum: SPELLMAKING in Skyrim - The Last Alter. I took the first post in that thread: 1.0.8 up now, should resolve issues with quest progression and reported altar and spell issues thus far. I'm currently working on SkyRe/Requiem/SKYPE/SPERG combatibility patches. Thanks for all your support, endorsements and bug reports  Okay, now I clicked on: VIEW FORUM THREADS. Copy/Pasted: "1.0.8 up now" In the search window. Got the following: No results found for '1.0.8 up now'. Got So went to the "COG" Feature and typed in the same thing and got the same basic No Results. So, again accepting that I'm 59 yrs odd human male -- What step did I miss??? In fact no mater what I use as key words/phrase from the above Posted Example - NO RESULTS. Thanks!! .. Jj ...
Oubliette
If you look at the results of searching for "1.0.8 up now" you'll notice the periods were removed, they are not useful to search terms. Shortening it to "up now" bought 3 pages of text including a link to this post. Which I assume is what you were looking for. You can use quotation marks in a search field to search for specific phrases and you can use the plus sign between words to do the same but other symbols will often be omitted by the search because of programing issues (they mean a different thing to a program than they do to us). But what was the problem was a mis-understanding on my part. I did not realize that the Mod Forums were linked. My bad ... and thanks!
Thandal
You can use more than text, but Google has a certain syntax for searches that include numerics. Learn it. Love it.
