Hello,

I have a small problem when i try to retexture the ring of khajiit...

Well, i got the mesh and texture by using BSACMD, i put the mesh in my data/meshes folder and began to retexture the ring.

I opened it with paint.net and just coloured the purple gemstone on it red. Quick and easy work.

I put the new texture into my data/texture folder and asigned it to the mesh by using TR (Texture replacer).

I put the ring into the construction set and it worked fine BUT...

I go into the game and pick it up, i go into my inventory to wear it and it doesn't show up on the model of my character

I exit my inventory and my character is wearing it but it's all black???

Please tell me what I've done wrong and how to fix it

Many thanks,

~~TES

You don't need to assign the normal map to the mesh, the game will find it as long as the normal map is in the same folder as the diffuse map, and with the same name too, but with a _n.dds suffix after the textures name.

Example: Diffuse map 'blahblah.dds', normal map 'blahblah_n.dds'

Cool :D

Thanks for the help, I'll give you some kudos :D

Good find! Although the plugin is inferior to GIMP and most other NormalMap creation tools, it is better than nothing for those that only work in Paint.NET. ;-)

I've attached the plugin to the Paint.NET uploaded here at TESNexus and included some install documentation too.

Thanks,
